Wise man no problem

Please choose Salami over VO and Boniface and use predominantly player's from the NPFL and see how far you will.get.

That guy Benjamin Tanimu supposedly 21, will struggle in English semi professional non league.

Finidi needs to be more assertive and stop 🛑 doing favours for NFF godfathers. The buck stops with him no matter what happens.
You are majoring in minors

I am interested in the big picture. Not Finidi or Boniface but a strategic long term view
I started watching Nigerian football in 1978 . The coach is not the problem

It is the NFF and the fans

You see nothing wrong with not appointing a coach on time but are telling me about Boniface
Do you know how many coaching assistants Finidi has been given? How many scouts or support staff?
#

Who appoints a coach one year after the qualifiers have started?

Human relations is one aspect I'm personally thinking is affecting this team. He's been in the team since yet when he was announced top boss, it's like a gulf cracked up and morale dived.

At this point, Finidi has to go if we want to try win and stand a chance. He will NEVER be forgiven if we miss another world cup

Infact, unless these legends goan warm eba or go outside and touch grass, they should never be trusted with such delicate duties as top boss ever again. Whoever champions local coaches for this job is an enemy of the state imo going forward. Many factors contribute to this and lack of self awareness is there.

we said then that we needed a Lesson learned strategy from Afcon but all the attacking football analysts said it's anti naija football.

sticking with Finidi is a higher risk, am sorry he doesn't have the charisma to charge the boys forward. We have lost something huge after Afcon, the pattern Finidi is trying to play, we don't have the full personnel to execute as Finidi is trying to add something he thinks is missing from the Afcon experience. What he's trying is what Paseiro also tried before Afcon that did not work, make we no deceive ourselves
I'm sure you were one of the people praising his appointment

We were never going to beat South Africa and Benin, let's tell ourselves the truth..
Finidi's issues nothwithstanding, SA and Benin had been in camp for weeks training and perfecting team strategy and cohesion

Our own players strolled into camp late, thinking they would have it easy.

Finidi is the scapegoat and he may probably be sacked
But truth be told, we were never going to beat both teams with such lackluster behavior from our players
And it showed on the f
No fight, no urgency
See how Benin players wan die for pitch!
That's what I'm talking about
You didn't say all these things before the fixtures

It’s glaring now. Totally collapsed

My take is lets stick with finidi and qualify for the next afcon. Forget about world cup. Its no longer in our hands. I expect the NFF to start rebuilding towards 2030. Some players has to go. The team cannot rely on the likes of ndidi and iwobe

No dey use "you people" and include someone just like that because you want to buttress your pov. You see me near anything like that? So rest this you people thing pls.

What you should be harping on is that no manager of SE, when they're messing up, is alien to complaints and analysis on where they should have done better. It is part of the game. If you want any game that people don't complain about crappy showing like the one finidi just did over 4games, then OYO o. Abegi

Wont blame NFF 100% because they wanted foreign coach but the pressure was too much on them to appoint local handler. They were even threathened with a lawsuit if foreign coach is employed.. i wonder why their interest (stakeholders and influencers) are always on super eagles, our female teams are doing exceptionally fine.

That Dossou even if he plays in Chadian league he is the best his country have

Is Taminu the best we hv in his position? Are u too daft to reason?

I still maintain that if finidi gave the chance he gifted Taminu to an Enyimba defender it would hv been justifiable that atleast the said player played under him when he was in charge of the Aba based npfl club. Insinuating such doesn’t imply that I wanted that.

How on earth did Taminu become a starter in the super eagles all of a sudden when we had defenders who did well in the just concluded season in europe? Is Taminu better than Ndah who shone for SA giants Orlando pirates 🏴‍☠️?

As for Sodiq u hyped him so much here that I longed for his debut in the super eagles to see how good he is
Na you know why you daft enough to keep avoiding the question if Tanimu did good or not. Seems you're too thick to understand no one is arguing with you if there we better players to be called up.

I hyped Sodiq? Bring receipt make you shame me if not stop urinating on my mentions

Good players make other players better.🤔

Bad players make good players bad 😔

It's a team weaknesses in the team impact all the players. This was the worsy game Ajayi and Bassey played as well Iwobi, Ndidi and Lookman for Nigeria.

But why ❓

No Ekong, no osihmen, no Aina. The trio in form would have woken the other players up

But fact of life is that there is only two outcomes whoever you appoint. Abi no be Mancini no fit carry Italy over North Macedonia (a country that I only heard of in the Bible before the match)

If na JPes gather two draws again, are you saying you would have pat him? Na fear of choice de paralyze person pass.

I think we have AfconQ in between now and the next WCQ fixtures? If na new hand we de hire, now is our chance or else na miracles we go expect and then cry if e no sup

I loved Boniface's movement yesterday
He showed quality
But those Benin guys were never going to let him play

They made Lookman look ordinary
And our coach had no answer

Finidi will grow
These are mere teething problems

in the glory days na akpu players full team, dreadful defenders like chidi nwanu, break-bone players like iroha, giants like uche okechuwkwu, who born monkey? ruthless midfielders like oliseh and mutiu then in front you have a tall gangling Yekini and the bull himself amokachi, those guys were very physical and can't be bullied anyhow on the pitch, come add skillful players like amunike and siasia, okocha sef was just the cherry on top. That team had spine and finess combined and we have never had such since then. Not forgetting the current coach with his nice crosses into the box.

This is why some of us appreciate the ruthlessness of an osihmen but some say he's not world-class.

Can Finidi win us our remaining 6 matches? Na the koko question.

lbrichman2:

Very tight..
Even if we win all our games, we still need other results to go our way ...

But we should do our part and win our remaining matches
Warrior mentality is needed
Zero room for errors or mistakes

We must become that resolved and put together a Man City-esque end of season winning run..
Then hope other teams drop points
Anything other than that, were out

We put ourselves in this situation unfortunately

We can still qualify if nff

Sack finidi and his technical team

2 use committed players whether home based or abroad …these set of players are not ready to give their all..we can still qualify if we win the remaining matches, which is 100 percent possible.

Sack Finidi. Sack Finidi. Sack Finidi.

I am of the same ethnic stock as Finidi but I cannot in all honesty advocate for him to continue in the helms as Super Eagles coach.

It cannot get worse. The knife has been shoved deeper and twisted in our heart and we'll eventually bleed to death. WE CANNOT QUALIFY. That:s the realistic diagnosis. .

We lose nothing from sacking Funidi.

Sacking Finidi is bye to football without formation and tactics.

Sacking Finidi is bye to poor defensive setup.

Sacking Finidi is bye to unmerited call-ups.

Sacking Finidi is bye to questionable player invitations.

Sacking Finidi is bye to home-based quota.

Sacking Finidi is bye to susceptibility to NPFL journalists and their envelope-induced hyping of home-based players.

NFF should do fast and sack him.

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2023, 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Goke7: 2:53pm On Jun 11
And for attacking football pundits here, I have a word for you, playing within Africa requires you to go for the grind when it matters most, if we qualify for the World Cup then you can experiment with all those Guardiola formations when you play with other teams from other continents but within this Africa, you have to play dirty to get your way through. During the Afcon final, the Ivorians kicked our players almost through the first half, when they realized our players were tired according to their coach then they started slicing through our team with their sexy football. Even in the afcon semi final, the Southies always went for the injured stomach of osihmen when he was in flight to weaken him and even Ekong had to take a card for the team to break the counter of the Southies in one instance.

During friendlies, we can experiment with formation or no formation according to our coach but in competitive matches, you have to go for the win or result in whatever circumstances. We need ruthlessness, packing the bus, jam bodi or whatever. A win is a win and that's what matters most. Is it not a shame that foreign coaches understand this better than our local coaches? Enough said.
