The one saving grace is that our group has no clear strong team. If results hold, we’ll be 4pts off the top. Far far from ideal but we win the next 3 matches and we’ll be right at the top/near the top. We have the players, but they have to play like a team. 2 Likes |

TheGoodJoe: With which players? We are better be humble. How many of our players are even in the top flight in Europe compared to even Senegal or even Ivory Coast. We got to be honest 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe:They have the capacity but lack the capability. England v France, 2022, England pressed and pressed. However, in the end, France won |

The players know themselves. It’s not about the fans. It’s about instilling discipline and promoting excellence. Goke7: |

Katcall: I don't doubt the English capability, but I am not down with their overall playing style and do not see them dominating the game until they change their philosophy to meet with what the players are used to in their clubs. Especially the top players. |

Yes it will be a gamble to keep Finidi. We need a coach with that mentality and who can instill it on the players. Anything else is still a gamble. Odunayaw: |

Goke7: You are missing the point. It is not a one way process but dynamic one. Scouting is a bit part of the process. Grooming is also it. The team has to keep growing and time will show. With time, playing the right way will have us having the materials to challenge any top side but we need to get serious and start. |

minfelix: Bro that is what I’m saying. There is no reason we should not be at minimum 10 pts. This is a group that we should have wrapped up by the 7th match day so we can now start experimenting with different line-ups and formations. 2 Likes |

TheGoodJoe: Also remember we are not a patient nation when the results are not going our way. Once the team is not entertaining we say it’s negative football. The same thing we said during keshi reign, in fact if I remember well majority said he won afcon by luck. I believe in further building on top any little success and not belittling it all in the name of eye catching football. We will keep going round cycles. |

Same coach could only register 2 points after 2 games. Let’s not forget Finidi didn’t have Osimhen, who was very instrumental to our AFCON run whether he scored or not. Granted Finidi made bad choices in his selection, and maybe tactics as well. Goke7: |

Gajagojo: Well this is what I like to hear, I am in complete agreement with your expectations. Success is built over the long term not the short term. The English FA decided over a decade ago that the players being introduced into professional football ⚽. Through the academy systems were simply outdated, technically inept, lacking skill and creativity. Essentially kick 🦵🏿 and rush was obsolete. As a consequence the English football academy needed to produce players who can play top level technical football and have the athletic ability to compete with players anywhere in the world 🌍 The whole youth training programme was changed and great emphasis placed on technical proficiency skill and athleticism. Arsene Wenger once said if you don't have technical skill at 14 it's almost impossible to develop after that age. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4qFjCaheDE?feature=shared What I am saying maybe the problem is much deeper, our football development has regressed very badly unfortunately. For how long have we been waiting for the next Jjay ,Finidi, Olise, etc |

komekn: Stuff is Nigerian football had a coaching problem. From my observation the average Nigerian coach lacks knowledge of basic things in modern football. Coaching is fundamental to football as teaching is to education. We don't coaching seriously. Most Nigerian players are badly coached from their youth that's all. We need a coaching revolution. 1 Like |

Katcall: It was from the okocha era we started getting addicted to this eye catching football. In fact those days it was when the eagles was leading by a comfortable margin like 3-0 they start showboating with cheers from the crowd eeeee no coach needed to teach the team possession football then, they get the job done and entertain the crowd later. But now we got to teach them how to trap ball sef, may God have mercy! 2 Likes |

Goke7: Unfortunately while we were in deep sleep corruption, mediocrity, godfatherism, tribalism, favouritism, nepotism, ineptitude, incompetence took over our NFA now NFF. We must realise that while we were in a deep comotose sleep other nations , were wide awake building up their football ⚽ development. Andbsime have left us behind or are now able to compete. Top level entertainment football is still being played at the highest levels.of football ⚽ just not by us sadly and UNFORTUNATELY. 1 Like |

komekn: My diagnosis is that we have been mentally colonized with football What happened with Music has to happen with football When we were kids people travelled from Lagos to Ibadan Benin following stationary stores Now young people know about the premiership players more than their family members It is inferiority complex Players who are made in Nigeria have a ruggedness that Iwobi cannot have. The defenders technically are embarrassing. Honestly I haven't seen any player as good as Oliseh since he left Let us NEVER forget That 1994 team was ranked NUMBER 6 in the world It was Westerhof that facilitated their moves to Europe after he arrived in 1989 They were all home based Again Keshi won with home based defeating Drogba,You're and others in the best Ivory coast team We must start from the basics Forget about winning but build a home grown team |

elyte89: Dude we have regressed look at our midfield, outside of Iwobi zero invention, creativity. Out midfield anchored ⚓ on Onyedika and Ndidi with Iwobi the only technical gifted inventive and creative player. What do you except the results will be. |
