Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by liveLongNprospa(m): 9:12pm On Jun 11 |
airmark: Nope they won't. But there will be a difference. From compensation of staff to quality of product to the public |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 9:14pm On Jun 11 |
liveLongNprospa: I don’t think the quality of the product will dip. I believe the fact that they will still be manufacturing Guinness stout and other associated products under the Guinness brand name/license the quality will still be same. But be rest assured they will compromise on other things that relates to staff welfare , maybe regulatory issues , unionism ,gratuity etc. which Diageo will no longer have control over . Only insider stakeholders will really feel such changes . 1 Like |

BlueRayDick: Lmao.. My brother. Those things will dip very very well. They need to make profits and to do that j this current economy, something has to give well. It's obvious Guinness has signed out from the Nigerian market. Not caring that the Nigerian people might be disappointed with what new Guinness drinks will taste like shows how insignificant our purchasing power is😥 1 Like |

BlueRayDick: that is where you are wrong. prepaid meters are for DOMESTIC customers domestic customers are only one segment of energy users you have customers on transformers 11kv who use MD meters customers on 33kv transformers who use skipper panels most of the delinquent customers are industrial level customers you can choose not to sympathize with the discos, but that does not address the fundamental problem - the power industry is capital intensive and requires significant funds most transformers are over loaded. most distribution panels are old. and legacy NEPA staff are also a big part of the problem. apparently the meter in my house was actually intended for the marina area. so when i was paying bills online, the funds were going to marina sales area, rather than festac. an old friend who provided consulting services fr the discos went on an investigation and found intricate and bizarre meter by pass methodologies. meter bypassing not within the house, but in the wiring from the feeder pillars i have said it repeatedly, estimated billing is simply a crude form of theft recovery. every transformer has a meter. what the discos do is they take the meter readings in an area, take the transformer readings and pass the loss to un metered customers via crazy bills. funnily enough my friend told me that if you have agidi and drg with them to NERC, NERC will usually rule in your favor 4 Likes |

BlueRayDick: indomie are the highest quality noodles sold in the country. and the company has stiff competition from numerous other FCMG. also guiness as a company are unlikely to allow their brand to be messed with. this is what i expect [not immediate] weakening of union possible exiting of older staff [high earners] tightening of controls - no more awoof overtime, no more stealing of diesel, etc downgrading of assets - toyota to kia |

liveLongNprospa: To make profit , they only need to tighten the noose on some cost center within the organization. They will cut down on CSR , u probably won’t see Guinness sponsoring some programs like they used to do in the past, they won’t pay new staff as competitive as they ought to, they may cancel provisions for gratuity for new staff , they may review the level of staff who get official vehicles going forward , etc. Most of the things they will do will affect the internal stakeholders and not the product itself . U know Guinness produces orijin bitters, for example they may come up with more spin off spirit drinks like orijin sef 3 Likes 1 Share |

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 10:05pm On Jun 11 |
This Guinness news is not bad (or as bad as we are painting it) The only thing i am sure is that Asians no dey give up. They rather start selling Guinness Bottled water and puff puff than fold. As for quality, i doubt if it would dip. Dipping the quality means customers would port to another brand. I have always loved Guinness; from the Stout to the Malt, and Harp used to be my brand before. Hopefully, they run it well. |
