It's obvious you don't know a thing or you just feel like ranting this morning as you all always do.

Are you saying petrol is not being smuggled out of the country when it was being subsidized? 🤣😂🤣 You must be one hell of a joker. The whole of our borders were filled with fuel smuggling business. Go and find out why there was a protest in Niger when the subsidy was removed so to speak.

What most of you don't know is that, no matter what, fuel will be smuggled out of Nigeria to Benin and Niger because it is officially more expensive in those countries even if it is sold for 5k here.

It is just unfortunate that our customs are almost useless and we also have lots of unmanned and illegal borders.

Let us reason together, no need for any abuse.

1. When subsidy was removed, smuggling decreased because it was simply not profitable .
2. After a few days naira was floated What simply happened was that as our naira was continually devalued, it became profitable to resume fuel smuggling. Our petrol price remained stagnant even though the naira had been devalued. So we are back to square 1

3.The implication is that fuel prices have to be raised to combat smuggling. Which the government cannot do easily.

Like I said, even if the petrol is sold for 5k in Nigeria, it will still be smuggled and sold in their market for over 5k because they don't import enough petrol in those countries.

It because their currency is far higher in value compared to our currency naira, so they can adjust and afford it easily.

The landing cost is 1,000? How do you know this please? Was it the same landing cost when fuel was subsidized? Or after they remove subsidy then it increase to 1,000?

Google will help you. It's just a click away

IMF told that man to float the naira, he hurriedly carried out and implemented the policy.

Now just look at the repercussions. 😡 Not only are they smuggling petrol out, they are also smuggling foodstuffs out of the country.

What did this man gain now from subsidy is gone and float of currency? Absolutely nothing.

The more things change, the more they remain the same.
It's a no brainer, they never thought of the aftermath. Anybody can run an ambition, but, without vision, policies run on trial and error.

What are you blaming the President for? Are you blaming him that PMS is about $0.42 per litre in Nigeria at the exchange rate of =N=1,500 to $1 while the same PMS is sold between $1.1 to $1.3 per litre in neighbouring countries and some of the neighbouring countries have crude oil and about two or three have Refineries. If the exchange rate had been =N=700 to $1 with foreign loans to be paid by Nigeria and subsidy makes the price of petrol in Nigeria $0.1 or $0.2 per litre when compared with $1.2 per litre in neighbouring countries will there be any need for about 60%
of the population of the neighbouring countries not to buy smuggled fuel from Nigeria?

The fact is that there are many parasitic nations feeding on Nigeria. They are being aided and abetted by their brothers and accomplices in Nigeria.

I don't want go into technalities . This is technical and political

You are going far, whenever anyone takes a decision two those are involved, either it goes downhill or uphill, any direction it goes a good leader will take accountability for it. When the merits come he sings praises to himself and when the demerits comes he reflects and sees what next he can do to averts such scenario

The reason our leaders are doing what they are doing is because people wlare their to clap hands for them even their policies are anti people, taking accountability is a virtue only a few are interested in. I won't go much in this light.

Majority of young people on Social Media are distorted and not technically sound.

The issue of PMS being sold at about $0.42 per litre in Nigeria at the exchange rate of =N=1,500 to $1 while the same PMS is sold between $1.1 to $1.3 per litre in neighbouring countries and some of the neighbouring countries have crude oil and about two or three have Refineries is beyond what anybody can answer here.
These are the analysis question here.

What stops the neighbouring countries with Refineries from selling lower than Nigeria? What stops the neighbouring countries without refinery from subsidizing their fuel to make it cheaper than Nigeria since the fuel is imported by Nigeria as well?

Floating of Naira makes us know the real value of Naira to Dollar. Nigeria cannot continue to borrow to subsidize PMS and at the same time borrowing money to defend the dollar for the importers. The corruption and leakages at both end of the pipe cannot be controlled .

Those with the opinion that removal of subsidy
and floating of Naira returned us to the initial stage are getting it wrong. In theory, they are partially right if only the subsidy is removed and Naira is not floated and every other condition remains the same, but it is impossible for every other condition to remain the same.

Reading your first statement made me not to go into any of your argument because I don't really have much time to waste going back and forth, since you are amongst those who are technically savvy but can't discern the concepts of accountability I leave to your tent. I have other important duties than to go low in discussion and compete with someone I won't add anything to me on how technically savvy I am, I won't because it doesn't worth a minute of my time. I see you are one of the numerous psychophants littered in the cyber space so I have to let u be.
