mank1234: Honestly, I dont understand his disdain for foreign coach. He critized Rohr until he got sacked, same continued under Peseiro. Not that the local coaches he was pushing were doing anything special. Sudan yet to lose a game in group B and toping with 10pts, guess the coach? Kwesi Appiah...It is well 1 Like |

Someone listed many factors and u are basking on tribalism. Show me one company, ministry etc that doesn’t have other tribes besides the big 3. Yes there is not tribalism in the land. codemaniacs: |

Goke7: I believe working towards effective possessive play and building on it will result in success. Going through just getting result will end with the team being toothless. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by mank1234(m): 9:53pm On Jun 11 |
Goke7: Yes you're right. After the first game at afcon that we drew he saw that we were poor in defending and that we struggle when we conceed first. He changed strategy. This his disciple that was with him and should have learnt something, jetissn the idea and gave us the worst of defences. A team is as good as its leader. A zebra can not lead a pride of lion. 1 Like |

mrwilliams9: It is out of our hands because winning the rest our matches does not guarantee us 1st place. We need Benin and SA to lose (or maybe draw) the rest of their matches in order for us finish with higher points. Those possibilities aren't certain. 2 Likes |

Any stick with finidi theory is a recipe for a cruel reality that will shake that glass house and scatter everywhere. Nothing impactful he can do enough to compete with the mid teams in Africa. Not to talk of the top dogs. He should getat. 4 Likes |

NFF should please as a matter of urgency sack Finidi and quickly employ that pep former assistant or any other good foreign Coach with zero tolerance for mediocrity charge with the task to qualify Nigeria for the World Cup 7 Likes 2 Shares |

For immediate solution to defense issues I think Nigeria needs Tosin Adarabioyo urgently maybe the AC Milan guy too if it’s not too late Quick & urgent fix Last time some people should be called up to eagles .eg. Ajayi We also have one or two good centre backs in the South African league I’d personally prefer solid home based centre back or two but there’s no time for try outs or experiments anymore How to win 6 straight games Phew Desperate times call for tough decisions NFF should go on fire-approach to resolve this totally We need centre backs We need creative midfielders We need world class box to box midfielders So we can’t find any solid replacement for Zaidu, why’s Osayi playing left back How can we rely on only Iwobi to create for us Bassey and Tosin pairing would work because they’ve spent over a season together and they’re use to each other We need top top level guys We can win all 6 if we get the best legs who are Nigerians from anywhere on earth. With one or two friendlies to work on team chemistry & tactics Nigeria FF should do everything to get Ekong & Osimhen fit o Nigeria can salvage this if sports ministry and NFF get their acts right and address the issues with urgency 6 straight wins to qualify Difficult task but nothing is impossible They need to go on a winning streak I don’t believe in the coach though Don’t know why they didn’t pick Amunike My opinion Do you guys think we need Gift Orban too ? We shouldn’t invite strikers with similar play style 3 Likes |

do4luv14: Thank you very much. Humility33 clearly wanted Finidi. All because he didn't want Amunike, he wanted Finidi, a man he knew nothing about from a tactical coaching perspective. All those who chose Finidi or preferred Finidi just so that Amunike should not be considered should sit tight coz Finidi is our coach for now. Una wanted this Finidi ride, not so? We dey here together. Lol 3 Likes 2 Shares

The problem here isn't the local coaches. The problem here is the choice of Local Coaches. And you clearly have bad taste in picking them.😂 charlesemeka85: 2 Likes 1 Share |

He qualified Nigeria to the 2018 Worldcup with a game to spare from a group that has Africa champions Cameroon, Algeria and Zambia. His team was deducted two points just because of NFF carelessness yet it didn't affect the Super Eagles qualifications. Qualified Nigeria for the 2022 FIFA Worldcup qualifying playoffs but clueless NFF decided to sack him. Qualified for the 2019 and 2021 AFCON with games to spare. We wanted Nigeria to play like Manchester City. Here we are, no hopes of playing at the 2026 Worldcup. 7 Likes 1 Share

More fair? Fairness isn't by local or foreign. It is down to the actual selection decision-making competence of the individual involved. Was it not Lars Lagerback who also picked nonsense? Rohr, in his final 2 years with us was rubbish too in his selections and decision makings. We have had them both local and foreign mess us up in terms of selection. Not ripe for a local coach? Was Festus Onigbingbe from Togo when he led Nigeria to Afcon Silver in 1984?? Amodu Shuaibu remains the only coach who has qualified Nigeria successfully for 2 World Cups AND HE IS BLOODY LOCAL. It is the choice of local coaches that matter. So snap out of your delusional fallacy. chidekings: 2 Likes |

Tell him. Don't mind Charles. He even preferred Finidi take the job rather than a better qualified and more technically sound Amunike. Now see where such "banter" has gotten him..... now to the point of him eating his own words and calling for Finidi's sack. And it has not even been 3 months. I shake my head. zicky: 1 Like |

Nwabali is better than Okoye o Don’t know why you guys are disrespecting Nwabali because he’s not playing in Europe Nwabali appears more comfortable with the ball on his feet and playing from the back. Okoye still has a lot of experience and playing time to do to catch up with Nwabali Udinese that were somewhat battling relegation That’s how you guys will say they should use a gittery national team goalie and blunders would reappear left and right Bassey made an error and Nwabali did the right thing He was quick to action Unfortunately they scored None of the goals were his fault The last time he made an error was corner kick against Ivory Coast in final where he misjudged and came out of the post His quick thinking and rushing out made us avoid a clear one on one goal situation against South Africa The one Taminu eventually nodded out 5 Likes |
