Hello Everyone, Good afternoon,I've received information that my Nulla Osta will be ready in a few days. However, I've been informed that I need to authenticate and legalize my marriage certificate and birth certificate. Could someone please explain how to go about this process? Additionally, I've been told that my documents need to be translated into Italian. I am quite confused since I haven't encountered anyone who has traveled to Italy via the family reunion route and could guide me through these procedures. If anyone can assist me or provide a proper explanation on how this works, I would be extremely grateful. Thank you. |

What that means is you need to go to Abuja to authenticate these documents at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and make sure you get a remitta receipt once you complete these process. Then you’d translate these documents to Italian through the recommended translation companies (you can find these details on the Italian consulate website) ( Kindly note that you can go to any English-Italian translator for the translation provided the document is accurately translated. You may however contact any of the under listed translators: 1. Grange Services Tel: +234 8173028377, +234 8091733903, +234 8024740397 E-mail: grangeservices1@gmail.com 2. AISA Providers Ltd Tel: 08172244196 E-mail: aisaproviders@gmail.com 3. Cajetan Osuagwu Tel +234 8146637381 E-mail ceejayosuagwu@yahoo.com After which you’d send a mail to the Italian consulate in Lagos that you’d like to book an appointment to legalize your documents ( lagos.consolare@esteri.it ) 3 Likes |

Re: Italy Visa by Adetoku3: 11:19am On May 29 |
Teefay: You need to mail the Italian consulate in Lagos and attach your nulla osta informing them about the validity of your document. With this, they will understand the urgency of your request. I’d advise you use another email in sending this request to the consulate. |
Re: Italy Visa by Ibfred(m): 4:26pm On May 29 |
Hello my people, I'm planning to apply for a study visa for my Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's program. However, I'm unsure about the birth certificate requirement. The TLS website only mentions needing a birth certificate, but it doesn't clarify if legalization is necessary. Based on your experiences, has anyone successfully applied for a visa without legalizing their birth certificate? I plan to get my birth certificate authenticated and translated, but obtaining a legalization appointment is taking a long time. Since the requirement isn't explicitly stated, I'm wondering if it's worth submitting the application without legalization for now. |
Re: Italy Visa by Adetoku3: 6:32pm On May 29 |
Ibfred: You may or may not legalize it. It’s not a compulsory requirement for a study visa. 1 Like |

Oh wow! Congratulations on receiving your nulla osta! When did you apply for it? I've been waiting since November 2023 and haven't heard anything yet. Since all your documents are authenticated, please email the consulate and explain why you need the legalization to be expedited. I wish you all the best 🙏 Has anyone else applied for nulla osta and not received a response yet? |
