PulsingPurple: I am. I know loads of people here are very condescending when people talk about doing IT for passion. But trust me there are ton of folks doing it for passion. Not like they aren’t interested in money o, but if there was no money in it, many of us would still be In this grind. I mean heck, we studied computing when there were hardly any computers in the country. And we still learned to program purely for “fun”. I remember buying my first Laptop (a Toshiba work horse) in 2002. Everyone thought I was mad. Same experience when I “blew” money importing a Raspberry Pi in 2014. With passion, the financial benefits will always follow. I’m not saying that those who are driven by ”sapa” aren’t top notch. To each their own. 4 Likes |

Una don start again with noise Unless you're still living with your parents and eating free food you can't come here and lie you're coding for fun or passion if you don't have massive money somewhere or inheritance that's sustaining you. Fun ke passion Ni I'm coding to see money to pay bills, have enough money to invest in my startup eventually a full fledged company. Programming is not a video game you'll be playing for fun. |

I know majority would say they code for passion. Just like one of my guy working in an oil company, he said he codes for passion, I will just start laughing. I often tell him that this is because you have support system that is paying the bills and feeding your family which is the salary job he already has else passion will die. Just like when you ask a footballer, they will usually say they play for passion but they are hoping to play and earn from it else a passionate footballer may just end up turning into a wheel Barrow pusher when the bills starts pilling up. you cannot code for passion only when your feeding and payment of bills depends on the money you make from it. so passion and money works hand in hand. You cannot go far with only passion because the end game is to make money from it. 2 Likes |
