"Ekwo sentenced Suleiman to three years imprisonment in count one and two years imprisonment in count two to run concurrently from the date of the order."

That means she'll serve just 3 years in prison. Probably less.

Nigeria is a 419 country. A scammer who stole #2 BILLION was convicted and sentenced to just 3 years.

Also, what asset does a FAKE company have that would be forfeited to the FG? The government should have hired a Forensic Accountant to track down the funds.

By the way, Nigerians who still fall for PONZI Schemes after MMM are some of the MOST foolish people on earth.
Mention greed

Jokers in court, someone defrauded people of about 2 billion naira, and the best sentence you could give to her is five years, and you think you are fighting corruption

I hope some money was clawed back for her investors.........

5 years is too small, a gradient should be imposed, depending on how much she returns......
NAC1666:

After 5 years, she will come out continue eating the money. While not 50 years imprisonment? Or option to return the money and get only 5 years. Oh,I forgot, she works for the same court!!

She actually got three years, out of which she'll likely do only 1½.
She got 3 years and 2 years which are to run CONCURRENTLY. Which means 3 years

Yeah, that jail term is so ridiculous! in fact, as a diligent and disciplined citizen, you will feel cheated. What's the essence of enduring this 'very hrdship' economy to avoid crime and just one person will dupe fellow citizens N2bn and just spend few months in prison, where is the logic in our laws?

Those law makers will never upgrade such law to suit deterrence the punishment was meant for in the first place since they are the first class beneficiaries of the weak punishment.

Those are the issues NLC should go for, in front of their gate to protest against all those weak punishments like plea bargain, 2 years for public funds embezzlement & office abuse, 6 months for misappropriation of public funds etc

She will come out in 6 months for good behavior. Then via for senator, with the money. They should go after the money and return at least some of the money to the victims

Anyhow you put it, Nigerian justice system is still wack.
Scam innocent people to the tune of 2Billion, get 5years jail term, come out after 5years and enjoy your scam proceeds 🤔

Bleep Nigeria!! Nigeria is a nonsense country! Nigeria na joke!
Where is the picture of this woman?
All those thieves who are influential and have top connections, they will never show their pictures to the public. Meanwhile, poor yahoo boy doing his thing in a coded way or someone that steals goat or android phones, they will circulate their pictures all over social media platforms and newspapers.

If you believe this woman has been jailed, you can believe anything. This woman must have been swapped with another poor woman who has no connections. This is the truth all our security agencies will never tell you. Some of us know the game!!!

Thunder faya all those thieves using high class connections to cover their tracks. ⚡ ⚡

Rubbish Judgement
Many will like to defraud and be sentenced to light punishment like this . The judge should be dismissed from the temple of justice. This is a miscarriage of justice. Those who stole goats were sentenced to 26 years but a woman who defrauded people to the tune of 2b naira is given 5 years...What is wrong with our judicial system ?

Ponzi is a risky deal. People get scammed but others make a fortune out of it.
In every business, there is always a risk of failure.

the above state of mind is the reason why so many foolish people get scammed by these ponzi schemes.

I won't advise someone who is cashing out from Ponzi to stop I can only advise one who is losing stop

we all know how these ponzi schemes work, you cant "cash out"... and even if you do, you lose all your profit. the fantastic profit they advertise is paid to you from your own money.... example: you gave them 100k and they give you 10% monthly, na your own money they are giving you back.
here is a simple question to answer: HONESTLY, do you believe the majority of people who invest in these yeye ponzi schemes LOSE money or MAKE money?

greed is what makes so many people LOSE money.. because they believe in the money return, so they invest more and then the scheme get busts.. no ponzi scheme on earth was ever successful (all go bust one day or the other). no matter how long you cover your tracks, ask Bernie Maddoff

The SEC also deserves some harsh words and punishment from the judge, for its failure to checkmate the evil and corrupt woman while her wicked evil scheme lasted.

She'll enjoy soft landing in jail and be out in a few months for "good behavior" (wink, wink)
