If you say Nigeria has no hope, how come you supported Tinubu?

Nilistjnr says the same thing and he didn't support anyone. Popiano too. There are people who saw Nigeria as irredeemable and stood by it.

You supported Tinubu. After a disastrous and one year and a hopeless 3 more years, you come back and say nobody can change Nigeria.

Wetin we go call this one?

I have always said Nigeria had no hope maybe you just didn't pay attention which was why I was always in support of japa for any youth who can

This is the reason I like capitalists, they don't sit around and whyne all day, they enter the ring and tussle it out, legal or illegal..

I also learn this man is about entering the steel industry, see the risks he takes, but when he wins, people say he has gorverment backing and monopoly, why not you go fight to have same monopoly and gorverment backing.. if to say na so e easy ?

Two truths can co-exist.

Dangote is a shrewd businessman who has done well for himself in building a business empire.

Dangote is also like the single businessman in Nigeria's history that has enjoyed the most backing of government u can ever think of.

Dangote like most businessmen prefers monopoly in all the sectors he operates, and he doesn't hide it. When people say he has government backing and monopoly, they not telling lies against him. Below is excerpt from a premium Times editorial which pointed at Dangote's move to monopolize importation of petrol even when he has refinery license. He has already been licensed to operate refinery o, but still wants a kinda monopoly in which only people who own refinery can import petrol ; abi how many companies get refinery license for naija again?

On February 28, the Chief Strategy Officer of Dangote Group, Aliyu Suleiman said that the importation rights for petrol should be awarded only to licensed and active refineries in Nigeria. This demand was in his speech to members of the National Assembly’s Joint committee on the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) who paid a visit to the site of the Dangote Refinery, which is under construction, and slated to be soon finished.

Suleiman insisted that any need to supplement shortfalls in the local production of petroleum products, due to maintenance procedures or whatever else, should be legally limited to the companies with active refining licences. This means that they should be the ones to benefit from their own failure to do what they were licensed and partly subsidised to deliver to the marketplace. This idea could also prevent the forces of demand and supply from determining market trends, with imports not being allowed to compete with local supply and hopefully get us a truly competitive pricing regime

Well it depends on whether you want to be realistic or delusional

In my opinion, No one can stop the downward slide of this country not even Obama, there are many factors working against Nigeria and many countries in Africa that goes beyond the person ruling the country

The best one can hope for is to slow down the downward spiral

Lets not get ahead of ourselves. There is no one fixing Nigeria, Not Tinubu, not Obi, Not Osinbajo and not Buhari. Not even Barack Obama

That is because many of the issues we are having are structural and no one person can fix it. Some problems affecting Nigeria are even because of our place as the richest and most prosperous nation in the sub region. 1 "rich man" among 10 destitutes

She's TayEmpress for a reason. Breaking records for a living, all seasons.

Okay, I got carried away there. 🤣🤣🤣

But yeah. I'm not even surprised; setting records is second nature to her. Her last album has over a billion streams in just one week (the most in a single day); she was Time or so person of the year last year. She's also the first person to become a billionaire SOLELY from music income. So, you see, you all have really been underestimating and looking at her with the "2014, shake-it-off pop girlie" eyes.

Lmao. Your manager is welcomed. And you can see how diverse this makes her fanbase. It is not just "teenage white mediocre girls" who like her. I even got one of my cousin, someone you can call an "egbon adugbo" to listen to one of her songs, and he so much liked it. 😄

I am waiting for a Nobel prize in Literature for her now (her sound has radically changed towards that genre) 😌. The Grammys have become like collectible paper planes to us now, and lost all novelty.

Chaiiii,it is a pity barbz dont know how this feels like cheesy

If she win Nobel, she don't hack life be that...

Tinubu has the best ideas to slow the inevitable collapse.

So in a thread where like 30 different people posted before 2022, how many posts were in support of Obi amd how many against? Are they all detractors or those Anambra indigenes gathered together to be detractors of Obi?

You don't do propaganda but you want us to believe Anambra was bottom 10 in Waec performance at any time in Nigerias history

No one has ever sold Tinubu as a Saint nor done the type of whitewashing you are doing for Obi

And some of those are just pure lamba you know it too
30 different people my foot. Stop playing abeg. Let's assume they're 15, just 15 oo. What is the ratio of 15 people the the entire state where singing his praises?

Nobody has sold Obi as a saint too, we are saying without apology that he's not a thief, he's not corrupt and never stole government money. Can you say that about Tinubu?

So Tinubu's call out is lamba but Obi's own is true. Please allow double standard to rest a lirru abeg.

I didnt want to focus on any politician in particular but since you are intent on proving how good Obi was lets go there

To the comments on the thread,
Lets assume they are 15, Of those 15 random comments, how many were in support of Obi when he was in govt? Or all of them were opposition

You were the one selling us about how Anambra was bottom 10 in WAEC in the country. In this same country we dey? You no really rate us

Obi is a big thief which is why his name was in Pandora papers, which is why he invested state money in a private business

You told us Obi didnt leave debt behind but his successor said he left 185bn in debts. So who are we to believe you or the successor

Just not as dedicated as I am to Taylor. So I'm on both divide of the matter.

Awards are great, and can serve as booster and all. It's okay to feel validated by them, but never not winning one is not a definitive judgment on one's career/talent.

She might not have a Grammys but she's amongst Billboard's Top 10 greatest rappers of all time.

She's excelling in her field and she has a loyal, buying fanbase just like Taylor does.

If you had that belief then, you most likely would have made such posts then...after 8 years of Buhari/APCs failure ( a failure in which the SW bloc of the party were active participants in), some cautious optimism was needed, and those your Nigeria has no hope posts is you expressing caution.

Okpa said he didn't outperform them by miles like Sean said, but you'd ignore that...you know what you're doing grin

That's inconsequential as anybody that couldn't outperform Chimaroke Nnamani as Governor by miles, is a failure. I spent a year in Enugu and I have gone there like thrice after NYSC.

Be that as it may, the most important thing is, Okpa proved that Obi failed woefully such that the Obi defender couldn't defend the 5.8bn budget on Governor's office and he couldn't mention one tangible infrastructural development by Obi in his 8 years as the Governor of Anambra state.

Buhari was never sellable... As angry as I was with Jonathan (mostly over the insecurity situation), was never sold on the Buhari hype.

Reducing everything to us wanting change will cause us to make same mistakes down the road...the people that voted Buhari are mostly the same people that voted someone that was licking microphone...there's a pattern.

This proves nothing sha, cause even Tinubu at some point Tinubu sef Japa...the only fact we can point at is that this your IPOB-esque tune is a recent tune, and only 9-10 years ago, while you had already jakpad, you believed a president had a magic wand.

I didn't mention Buhari in my reply, don't bring him in unless you want to deviate. I am only saying those who criticised the GEJ government were well within their rights as at that time, they was a hike we had to deal with and people had every right to critique his policies.

It's like someone quoting a tweet now in 2032 when the exchange rate rise to 3k for $1 or the price of fuel hits 1500 as if to say people were wrong for criticising Tinubu...

We were largely all dissatisfied with Jonathan, mostly due to the Boko Haram mess, some bought the Buhari hype (understandably), others chose to stick with Jonathan and some didn't buy the hype, but were indifferent to the results. Others though, have stuck with APC from 2015 all the way to 2023, they're the ones I refer to when I say there's a pattern.
