Angry youths in Agharoza village, Iboko community in the Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, on Thursday, demolished and set ablaze their kinsman’s houses over a ‘prophecy’.

The youths also burnt his other valuable property and destroyed his yam barn and farms.

The youths carried out the dastardly act following a prophecy by a prophet, who is simply identified as Prophet Ubadimma. The youths claim that according to Ubadimma’s prophecy, the victim was responsible for the backwardness and other misfortunes in the area.

An indigene, Nwota Gabriel, told our correspondent that a prayer programme was held by the villagers and they invited the popular ‘Prophet’ Ubadimma for the three-day event to fish out the evil men in their village.

According to him, “From the report, they said that this young prophet, if invited to any village for a crusade, will use his power to fish out evil men in the village, thereby making the villagers free from all forms of captivities. Ubadimma goes from village to village, if invited, with his team for a crusade.

“Unfortunately, this particular one got everybody confused and Ubadimma pointed at the man (the victim) at the crusade ground as one of the evildoers in the village.

“When he was pointed at, the man insisted that he was innocent; but the villagers insisted that he should be treated the way others are treated.”

He said that on the fourth day of the programme, the man invited the police to disorganise the programme, noting that after the whole scenario, the angry youths in the village came out and demolished his houses, motorcycle, farm, and other property for denying that he was not responsible for the village woes.

Meanwhile, the traditional ruler of Ndieze Autonomous Community in the council area, HRH Eze Hyacinth Nwokpor, has banned prophets and prophetesses from operating in his community.

He claimed that prophets and prophetesses had caused many problems in the community.

According to him, a man killed his father in the community because a prophet told him the father was responsible for his impotency.

Even the victim attended same crusade. Smh.

Police should investigate this. The victim may actually be innocent. It's not enough for the traditional head to ban crusades, the past events and current one should be investigated.

Haba!! This is how you will move your investments from the city to the village and people envious of your progress will connive against you to burn down all you have worked for all your life and still want to be walking around free looking for their next victim to devour. The misguided youths and their prophet should answer the following questions:

Did government construct a good road in the community and the kinsman caused the road to disappear?

Were the youths given free and quality education but the kinsman blocked them from being educated?

Were the youths offered good jobs but the kinsman blocked them from going to work?

Is the kinsman the one sending the youths to campaign for the wrong candidates for the sake of T-shirts and caps?

Is the kinsman the one pushing the youths into substance abuse?

How many of the youths have become rich after the prophecy?

The prophet is funny. How could he be senseless and deluded to point of pointing at someone during the crusade as being evil when everyone is looking for who to blame for frustrations and depression of bitter grievingory Obi shameful defeat by Jagaban.

The youth burnt the property in reaction

Many people comment like they are from UK

If you stayed in some village you will understand.

There are villages where success of your child can be his end.

Anyone who buys a car must be spiritually strong or he will die.

You can not build a storey building

Wickedness and evil abound in many communities.

Some families are dealing with evil uncles and witches.

However, the thing is if the man is truly guilty and if the prophet is accurate.
I'm
cococandy:
Goodness help any demented oaf like you or your ilk to touch a property owned by me or someone who reasons like me.

I will stop at nothing until I make sure I own all your ancestral land. Your children and grandchildren will have nothing. This religious madness hasn’t driven any of you to the right person. One day You’ll try THE RIGHT ONE and rue the day you ever met that your prophet.

I pray you start using your brain today, not tomorrow. For your own sake

Calitoscassius:
I don't believe this nonesense!

The man is innocent, the "prophet" is the criminal scammer.

There are no such thing as prophet or prophecy, It is all crap!

Why couldn't the so called prophet bring peace, jobs and progress to that community rather he is accussing people of wrong doings

The youths who listens to the prophets are illiterate useless hopeless ignorant morrons.

TheGift:

You sound like someone who would have joined them to burn the house.

All of you that quoted me.
I dare you to mention your village and how long you lived among the people.
You were raised in the city by your parent who were scared to take you home. You finally forget.

You think some families are poor because they dont work hard. Not to undermine natural occurrence but some are under a spell.

For instance i am telling you from experience..
Most of you can not even deal with physical enemies. Now imagine they are spiritual.

I am not for or against the youth.

Yall you just keep shut.

And this is what you to say? You did not even pity the person who commented above you that Tinubu has caused a lot of people to start begging like him both offline and online, you are still talking about Peter Obi...

If the youths that are hungry decide to burn down your house now for supporting evil against them, you will be quick to form victim

Pathetic!
Such a shame, Ignorance they say is very expensive and these ones are just demonstrating it . Please regardless of what your so called prophet said or is saying your problem is an inadequate academic system that will not allow you to be educated enough to know that they so called Kinsman is not God and does not have the power to hold anybody's destiny. The people who have the real power to hold your future most likely you people are hailing them and revering them are your political leaders,INEC officials who won't allow you to vote out the non performing office holders or foist bad politicians on you through their office, you judiciary who is corrupt that upholds these political coups. Your so called President,Governors and Representatives who cannot create jobs for their populace instead are looking for means to tax them more and more. Who show no empathy on you for the rising cost of stables and general goods instead keep splashing out billions on themselves and increasing the salaries of the elites (judiciary)while telling you that to increase your own salary is unsustainable.
Personally I don't know whether juju works or not but I am sure that a working system trumps over any kind of juju in this world which is why first world countries continue to thrive regardless of their religious affiliations.
Where some ignorantly seek protection from charms for when the engage in combat nations like US,China,France have institutes of war. If we spend half the time we use to pray in this nation on work and pragmatic things we will find out why the Bible says that we are gods.

Check very well; the motive behind those "youths" victimizing the man may not be untied from the fact that in one way or another, or at one point or another, they have felt entitled to be "helped" by the man because he is rich or doing well, and they were never really helped. They never blamed their lazy parents for not doing what they felt a man should have done for them.

Moreso, these "youths" we are talking about here, may be some 30-45 year old village riff raffs.

I blame the parents that didn't train their kids from the onset!

The home is first education to a sane world!

Religious centres are now becoming devilish!
Things even Jesus didn't do you'll see Christians nowadays doing them and calling others to it.

False Prophets and gods of men!
