Abi, the influence went beyond his control as IGP, promotion and co is resident under the PSC. The reason for the Commission was due to the myraid of irregularities such as stagnated promotions excetra. I believe the Commission was doing a good job and people were promoted according to their merit. It was hoped that staff welfare of the Police would reside under the Commission with time, howver, the PSC now has a new head, I bet it it will fall with time and become what it was set up to curtail.
