Most times, when a Fulani herder allow his cows to invade people's farm and is apprehended and charged to court or Police. They ask him to pay a compensation. I think this is the best way to go, even when the compensation is more than the value of the farm, they pay in market days without issues cos they sell their cows. The Igbos stood against them and made them understand that those periods you come to our farm, destroy the crops, kill the owners of the farm have gone.

Ranching is the solution.

Countries like Ghana did not mince words about this. It's 2024 not 1924. Your effort at resolution is appreciated but the greedy cow owners and investors are the problem.

Most of them can afford 1-2 acres ranches that will solve this problem but they want to reduce the cost of production by all means without caring about all the loss of livelihood and lives over the years. That's simply wicked.
