Life never happened to you and pray it doesn't because if it does, you'll not only bargain, you'll beg those marketing women. There's nothing wrong with bargaining for price though some people do it as if there's something else involved.

Fact of the matter is he doesn't have responsibility, that is wife and kids. If he does, he would realize that 1m is not enough to spend for a family in a month and you must still save. So, I allow my wife bargain. I feel sorry for the market women, but I know she's saving money for me.

Sorry for my questions if seems digging your past: How old are you, have you been feeling like this before or recently, have you been buying this foodstuff without such feeling of shyness before, are you still single, if the last 2 query are yes then you need a transformation from bachelorhood to a married status. It happened to me some years ago before I got married. Anything pepper, tomatoes and food market thrown me off balance. It's a signs that you are mature enough to engage a partner that will be doing such for you.

I had to read patiently to under what you mean. Yes it's true some people are shy when they get to the market. They don't have the confidence to price down or negotiate certain things.

This is probably because you didn't get the chance to frequent the market with mother. Because some mothers can beat down the price of a 500naira pepper to 200naira.

If you are the shy type, have it at the back of your mind that there is no fixed price for anything. If you can afford to shop in a supermarket, the prices are moderatly sized without cheating but you fit still price am

My mother especially can beat down 500 Naira price to 50 Naira and in the end she will still feel like she should have done better. If my Mama price article in your presence, you either dissociate yourself from her or you use style pity the seller.

My Mama cannot go to market without claiming captives. That's haggling is one of her greatest forte

Last week l entered a big supermarket to buy my favorite perfume Faidra...that l still bought for #2500 mere days before last year's election...but today the price is #7,500...a whooping 300% increase in just a year!!! That's crazy!!!...l had no choice but to buy it Sha cus l just love the perf... people always praising the nice smell whenever l use it...
But inside that supermarket l noticed one big man like that bitterly murmuring and complaining to the supermarket's staff at the counter that everything has addded money as she was tallying the price of the packaged food stuffs that he bought...

You're just being too "self-conscious." There are ALWAYS opportunities to bargain for anything. It's at the bedrock of the arbitrage businesses where you buy low and sell high to earn a tidy profit.

In reality though, I do not like it when some people haggle excessively below the cost price... Just do it in moderation and make your purchase at a slightly lower price than the original mark-up that the seller gave you.

Last but NOT least, better still, you can do price comparison shopping online to get a hang of the average prices of things and then go to the shopping mall or open market and get your items at a bargain so that you don't get cheated.

I watched a video on tiktok or Instagram few days ago about the bargaining power of African mothers 😂 she told her daughter to price yam, the seller told her it's 3000, but she can pay 2800 last price, she went to tell her mum, her mum said "what"! and tied her wrapper very well 🐱 went to bargain and they gave her two of the yams for 350. I wan die with laughter 🤣🤣

You feel embarrassed that you lack good negotiation skills as a dude. that is one of the most important skills you need to succeed in life, I feel embarrassed for you my guy and I love to negotiate against people.

A good bargaining skill is necessary for life, most of the sellers mark up their prices because they know Nigerians will always 'price' stuffs

It is fine to negotiate but don't do that to cheat a poor seller out of her struggling business

That being said, you must also know that you can't be a good Sale or businessman or a good entrepreneur if you've got no bargaining skill

Also to succeed in life you must be able to negotiate for the best, if not you will go for anything that comes your way
