.....Indigenes tell Tinubu Following reports about possible a cabinet reshuffle by President Bola Tinubu, a group, known as De Renaissance Patriots, on Friday, urged the president to appoint an indigene to represent Lagos State in the Federal Executive Council, FEC. The group, in a statement by its President, Prince Adelani Adeniji-Adele stated that the choice of an indigene will “cement a better relationship with us and assuage the feelings of the indigenes towards being alienated.” Adeniji-Adele said: “The IBILE people of Lagos State, through one of their social cultural organisations, De Renaissance Patriots Foundation, congratulate President Bola Tinubu on the recent celebrations of Democracy Day. “We have received media reports about possible a cabinet reshuffle by President Tinubu, if true, we welcome any changes that will make his administration more versatile. “It is, therefore, our wish to draw the attention of His Excellency to the wishes of most indigenes of Lagos state that an indigenes from any IBILE division so appointed by you as a minister be given a substantive and full port folio, not a junior’ minister. This will be a good step towards cementing a better relationship with us as well as assuaging the feelings of the indigenes towards being alienated. “We pray for His Excellency for the energy and wisdom filled with filled with Grace of God to always do the right thing for us and practical steps by giving Lagos State the Ministerial slot that she deserves. “The great strength of Lagos State is the unity and understanding that had been its hallmark that bonded the indigenes together during the colonial administration before and after amalgamation in 1914.” https://www.vanguardngr.com/2024/06/impending-cabinet-shakeup-we-want-ministerial-slot-for-lagos-indigenes-tell-tinubu/ |

I think a true born Lagos indigenous person should be appointed minister instead of people from the South west. Lagos people had always made it clear that they are not from the south west so we dont understand this attachee by force. That's how they placed Olusegun Aganga to take the position of real lagosians back then, and the situation hasn't changed till today. 1 Like 2 Shares |

The funniest thing in Nigeria is that when they are discussing Lagos state or southwest, it is Bitter grievingory Obi people that will dominate the discussion, mourning and grieving over what never concern them, they are full of wrath and anguish as if bitter grieving obi is the first to lose election woefully and disgraceful 9 Likes 1 Share |

The constitution of Nigeria is one of the most liberally framed state regulation in the world as it grants every Nigerian equal rights in every part of the country irrespective of where they come from. The Constitution of Nigeria supports an Igbo man to become governor of Lagos state, just as it stands behind an adamawa indigene who desires to become the governor of Anambra state. |

Bobloco: Who's attaching by force Last I checked, no celebrity, politician or known person ever claimed to be indigene when they're not Dagrin,Olamide,Davido,Whizkid, 9ice,Dbanj are all vocal about their states. Aside Tiwa and Banky who are sure indigenes and everyone knows that Ambode,Yayi,Aregbesola and others have always talked about their states of origin, even though they claim Lagosians as residents, which even non-Yorubas living in lagos do at all times Even here on NL, I've not seen any of those PBAT supporters claim to be Lagos indigene Again, who are those non-indigenes claiming to be indigenes Una just dey force convo wey no dey....people from other SW states aren't that obsessed with Lagos. It's even dumb to deny one's real state 2 Likes |
