https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8frYFtLZ44 The United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) recently confirmed the start of US forces’ withdrawal from Niger, marking a significant shift in American military presence in the region. The first C-17 Globemaster III aircraft departed from Air Base 101 in Niamey on 7 June 2024, signifying a pivotal moment in the broader context of US strategy in the Sahel and West Africa. https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/704451-us-forces-withdraw-from-niger.html 11 Likes 2 Shares

The way these francophone countries are kicking US and french forces out is unprecedented. The truth remains that no foreign power can solve the internal problems bedeviling another country, the military leadership in niger republic and other west and central African countries must address the socio-economic problems facing their people, a prosperous country will have less security challenges. Bringing in Russians will not make any difference, they have their own selfish interest too 289 Likes 12 Shares |

Nice move. Their main aim now will be to use few people from Niger to try and destabilize the government like they did in Libya, Iraq and Afghanistan. 35 Likes 3 Shares |

Good riddance, they were not there to fight terrorism after they refused to share intelligence with Niger Republic for years but to steal resources and carryout military operations across the region while violating other countries sovereignty. Since France left Niger iis now one of fastest growing economies in the world as they now sell their Uranium at international market prices and can export their crude which is being blocked by Benin Republic under the control of France. Niger should also be prepared for increased terrorism because Americans don't totally leave any place they occupy, they will try to create a proxy force to destabilise the country so that you run back to them for help like Iraq did after the sudden emergence of ISIS 18 Likes 2 Shares |

lilvicky68:Russia is not coming to solve any problems for Niger. They will simply just start from where the US and others stopped using different methods. Those people (big powers) are not philanthropists. They don't solve problems for any one. In fact the more the problems linger, the longer it makes their stay relevant. Just like we say in Nigerian parlance "initial gragra" they will show you a semblance of good to prove they are the right ones, the result is always the same, expansion of their own national interest first before any other consideration (exploitation) 12 Likes |
