May it be blessings to the Citizens unlike Nigeria that the Citizens are suffering in the midst of plenty. We are currently hoping and praying for God to deliver us from the Vultures that has been feeding fat on our common wealth. Nigeria we hail thee. |

Idinem: I agree with you but some of us that criticize those in govt have the potential to do same if we have the opportunity. In other words, the leadership is as bad as the followers. I know what those not in govt are saying. Now, government officials Gov senators Reps members Ministers DGs CEO are buying Rams for people in their constituency and followers, is the money from their salary? No, it can't be. It's from our Commonwealth. So what are we saying? Followers are accepting Sallah gift of Rams from Leadership and at the same time accusing Leadership of humongous salary and Allowances, and corruption. Who's at fault? We're all part and parcel of the corruption. Person wey e no reach na hin dey cry. 2 Likes |

YesDaddyTill203: You're right. Those blaming their leaders are doing false humility because they don't have the chance yet to get to to power. Some of them are worse than the leaders we criticize. 1 Like 1 Share |

Without any refinery to back it up?? They can bring it to Nigeria. We'll sell the refined product back to them at higher price. Everybody must learn! |

You can see how greedy African leaders can be. they just started drilling and they want to renegotiate what they have already negotiated, bunch of clowns. soon they will come and start propaganda that the west is stealing their resources. Why did they not discover the so-called Resources oil by themselves and build the facility to explore it themselves they waited until the west came with their equipment spent a lot of dollars to discover and start exploring the oil after they already have an agreement in place for the sharing now you want to renegotiate to demand more. bunch of greedy clowns. and brainwashed fellows. why didn't they invite Russia to come and help them discover the oil and spent their rubble to build the expensive equipment to drill the oil. O i forgot Russians are still looking for a way to sell their own oil.. Ndiala 1 Like |

Calitoscassius:Just the clown i was waiting for, ndiala lazy bones who blame everyone but themselves from for their failure. YesDaddyTill203: Itz rather bcuz power has eluded the seemingly non existent but selfless ones like my mum In other words, itz more likely 2 get power as the TYPE OF RULERS WE HAVE From local to federal government level Itz more likely bcuz of how expensive it is 2 get there But if we can av political reforms such that political parties reduce the number of activities they hold and the amount of equipment/facilities they use in order 2 reduce the cost of their political participation thereby making it easier 2 reduce cost of governance and make corruption as fragile as necessary 4 economic prosperity, then we wont av 2 be the worst economy in existence. |

New oil producing countries are learning from Nigeria's mistake. Very soon, production from those countries will eclipse Nigeria as more investors moves in to discover more fields. I hope the Nigeria's indigenous companies acquiring the assets the IOCs abandoned are equal to the task of improving production. |

Re: Senegal Joins Oil-producing Countries, Begins Production by Svoboda(m): 6:42pm On Jun 17 |
Most countries along the african coast, from Morocco to South Africa have substantial reserves of hydrocarbon. Oil is no more an exclusive preserve, yet is a precious commodity. Even as the world's population baloons continuously, oil will still be in high demand globally. Alternative energy sources are the fad, but they're are very expensive as compared to oil. |

It's not enough to celebrate. Nature has done its parts; they should go and sit somewhere and map out ways to use the resources to better the country and the people. The abundance of oil and crude oil in Nigeria has not solved Nigeria's problem. Nature has made it a blessing but the set of leaders we have here have made it a curse. They should be foresighted; learn from the mistakes of Nigeria, think of where country like Nigeria got it wrong and do things differently and better. |

Congratulations , I hope they have learnt from Nigeria story how we became fantastically corrupted and our legislooters legalized corruption by immunity clause that allows office holders to steal public fund for free only to hire lawyers of hell to help them kill the case once they are charged for their financial crimes after office and thereby making poor masses poorer and under developed the country economically |

bigdammyj: Congrats to the leaders that have already chopped from the deal; outside Botswana, the African nation has benefitted its people with mineral wealth. The last president of Senegal signed away 90% of the Oil resources to Western companies. Hopefully, the new Senegalese President and Prime Minister might turn things around. |
