If they tried Rubles, other nations apart from Russia will complain. Same thing with Yuan, Rupee, Real, Rand etc.

Not necessarily BTC, as I said.

BTC is just one amongst thousands of cryptocurrencies.

They could create a whole new cryptocurrency that fits the criteria of what they want in a currency ie complete control.

Or perhaps getting an alternative USD is something that's not meant to be.

And what makes you think China especially will not start calling shots and dictating things to BRICS members? Give them enough time and ultimate power and you will see

Gold, silver, platinum and the rest are trading on the floor of the financial markets. These 3 or just gold is okay by me.

As for countries with their own currencies, I heard they'd be allowed to trade with local currencies while countries outside BRICS must use BRICS currency to trade with Brics states.

It will take time to perfect because they have to consider individuals countries, no one wants to hurt it economy or cause inflation.
All this nation already have their currency, so bringing another currency is hard and there's so many questions about it that needs to be carefully looked into.

For instance will the currency only be used for intentional transaction among members and not demostic?
Which country prints it?
Can non brics state also use it.. and so on and so forth.
