My mum ,with an nce has been teaching 4 more than 15 to 20years.

But for d past maybe 8 yrs, itz been jus above 20k

In april dis year,she got fed up and left a certain private sch,where she had been since 2019 due 2 too much stress and a terrible salary.

The sch she joined said theyre gona pay 30k

But at the end of may, they did some deduction in order 2 sell certain tinz at a price higher than d markt price 2 my mum.
They said it was a must 4 her 2 buy from them.

As 4 my dad, hez more elderly as an experienced security guard.

But hiz salary is just abt 25k.

Sadly,

I cant go 4ther.

Am not posting dis cuz i expect anybody 2 assist them with a beta job or financially on dis violent 4rum

Am posting it out of sadness

Again i cant go 4ther

Dis is not a reason 4 anybody 2 make it seem like am trying 2 destroy their chance of getting whatever theyre expecting anywhere as a salary at whatever possible time

So how is the family sustained on this combined income of less than 60k?

Do they have business/side hustle to augment? Or are the kids grown and out of the house and supporting?

Very sad story with my six siblings

Weve been living in different places since i was born,changing residence multiple times ,my mum is much used 2 carrying loads on her head and thaz mostly due 2 accomodation issues ,am used 2 using anything such as polybags/cartons 2 carry or store whatever i gat, usually a few items.

At the moment, my mums using a rented room in an uncompleted building ,2 of my siblings elsewhere, 3 somewhere else,my dad elsewhere with my older brother and am anywhere , anyhow,

Am often restless, av changed residence more than any of them

I presently sleep in an open church that has no windows/doors meaning anyone can enter at anytime but av got no alternative

The feeding is often or mostly just as complicated,so twisted and extensively terrible when you consider certain tinz which i cant put in words.

However, 3 of my siblings were sent out of the country 2 carry out church activities in african countries nearby for some time by a certain church in the neighbourhood earlier this year.

I wonder what they will meet when they come back.

The rest is more useless memories.

My older brother aint got no job.

My older sister , just surviving ,am not sure of what else 2 say there.

Am into part time teaching or working with more than one school but av been very unstable 4 very
unstable reasons

my younger ones ,3 are presently outside nigeria 4 church activities/preaching and other similar stuff.

anoda may join soon tho she learning a trade now.

my mum sacrificed a lot 2 also ensure 3 of the younger ones leave dis country 2 go and preach 4 some time.

she has been sacrificing so much since damn itz so terrible and unfortunate and it seems it must be in vain cuz the country is getting harder 4 people struggling 2 get mini wage or whatever that means

my dad has had 2 spend a lot especially on my older brother whos had certain unexpected and unprecedented mis4tunes

the whole tinz sickening

as 4 side business

none cuz my mums farm which can be anywhere, is jus anoda baseless struggle, no security , no customer 2 buy whatz left.

she brings unripe pawpaw 2 eat sumtimes

grinding unripe corn

itz all nonsense

damn

what sort of thing am i even witnessing?

How old are you Victor and what is the level of your education? Do you have any marketable skills or are you able to learn? Do you know beyond a certain age, you become your own background and your parents cease to be your background?

Your parent is paid less than 30k because that is what they deserve based on the level of their skills. It is the way things work in the real world, my friend. The way to solve your problems is not to pray or complain about them all the time, you will have to change your mindset and learn a tangible skill.

If you want the bitter truth and desire to breakthrough from that path. Sit down and think about a craft you love, that you know you will do well in, I mean real handwork, mechanic, pop, bricklaying, carpentry/furniture, cement work, barbing, upholstery, tailoring..... The list is endless. Make a resolution that you want to invest all your strength into whatever you decide to learn even if hunger wan blindfold you. Within five years your story will change if you don't deviate from your plan.
All these 20k jobs are slavery. I'd rather work as a labourer thrice a week then use the remaining days of the week to pursue my dream than dedicate all my time to slavery.
I'm talking from personal experience. The earlier you take that bold step the better cos your kids won't listen to excuse.

As an NCE holder, why didn't your mom join the state government as a teacher or civil servant?

As for your siblings that are currently abroad, they should think outside the box and device a means to earn a sustainable income that will break the cycle of poverty.

At this point, you don't need handouts. You need to learn a skill and be self sufficient. I know carpenters, mechanics and shoe makers that are doing well for themselves. Your father wasted his life as a security guard. Do not tow his path.

As 4 learning skills, it must not stop me from the work am doing cuz i dont really depend on handouts.

my siblings abroad cant spend more time thinking of anything but the church activity that they were sent 2 do.

as in , itz only if they MEET SOMEONE/PEOPLE that they can work with that we can speak of anything else and stuff like that cant be planned by them.

however, i believe they will be able 2 take note of certain tinz overthere.

as 4 my dad, nothing makes him 2 deserve such nonsense as a salary since hez doing his job and nothing else right there.

his inability 2 av made it doesnt mean his work as a security guard at that age should be belittled.
