Number one, you choose to go and study in the UK and you are not forced to.
Number two, you were probably sponsored using the looted money from our common treasurer.
Number three, the conversion rate is not 1.900 as some of you cretins want it to be.
Let me stop here
if you are not a cretin why do you have call derogate people just to make a point,

People are paying millions in private universities and I can beat my chest and tell you that the graduates being rolled out by the private universities can't compete with those from federal universities.
Most Nigerian universities need to upgrade first-to be standard and inline with the present realities of the new world and not those their old paper based lecturing they are dishing out to their students.

Private universities are not equal but there is a reason why covenant university has overtaken all Nigerian universities perhaps with exception of UI.

And where is the money for this upgrade to come from…from the yeye N45k tuition?

Lol...you're paying 40m for a degree. The rest of those things are contingent on you getting a job in a shortage profession which is highly unlikely. Moreover, the things I've struck out are not guaranteed at all. You're not in touch with reality.

People paying 40m are not waiting for any white collar jobs in abroad… they understand it’s very competitive…

Someone that pay 40m to japa will gladly take up a security job

I have a bank manager that arrived here few months ago.. his now a security guard and his racking millions at the end of the month in Nigeria exchange

You do not need to spend that high to "escape" from Nigeria

That amount alone can move a family of 4.

I guess the person wasn't that useful in Nigeria in the first place to have needed to spend that high.

Someone with a useful life in Nigeria doesn't need to spend that high to change location. (Just one person)

Lol. You that's useful in Nigeria, how much do you have?

It's a fallacy to believe that everywhere in Europe and America is safer than Nigeria...you could be in the mall minding your own business only to be gunned down by a mass shooter who is depressed and wants to commit suicide; you could also be shot by a trigger happy American policeman because you have you hand in your pocket during a traffic stop, you could be knifed by a crazy migrant if you're in France or Germany; you could be attacked and killed by crazy redneck racists who hate blacks.

....the list goes on undecided

No wher is safe actually

But here it’s rare to have your skull mined
It’s rare for kidnapper to carry you
It’s rare for herdsmen to butcher you

And many more

grin grin If anyone is looking for moral or religious lifestyle. They should avoid the UK or America. Germans are better in terms of religion.

However, i don't think that is what that individual meant by his life changing in a different perspective.

Well, I think such changes or perceptions about life are part of it.

Like, look at it this way..... A typical Pentecostal person will go to UK and they will make him think he or she needs less of God and more of work. Whereas in Nigeria it's different ( even though both views can yield same results)

He may end up not caring about his relatives or brothers and sisters after seeing and believing that they ought to fend for themselves ( forgetting that his family back home are in a totally different economy)

I still feel the Nigerian family is better morally than the UK family.

Social media, internet, and bad parenting have messed things up.

After paying 2 million naira in UNILAG and the job if any available for you is 45,000 naira.

People are still getting well paying jobs in Nigeria.

Don't use your own condition to judge others.
No amount spent on education is too much.

A total of 20,000 pounds was spent in this venture and if you convert to naira we should be talking of about 40 million naira.
The figures are really mind-blowing considering the fact that the Nigerian currency is getting worse by the day.
NOT WORTH IT
Re: The Amount Someone Spent To Graduate In Uk by Inosky: 11:48am On Jun 19

It doesn’t work like that. You don’t say pay me the money for a well educated graduate and then I will go and get re-educated like a well educated graduate. You don’t say pay me salary upfront then I will work. You don’t say marry me 1st then I will show you I am worth marrying.

The way to solve the problem is to raise the fees of local universities to a level where they can compete with foreign universities abroad like it was in the 1960s-80s. The good thing is it won’t be anywhere as much as foreign fees. If the amount for a truly competitive university system is N4m then double it. Those who are paying N20-40m+ abroad would gladly send their kids to universities here. The only reason they send their kids abroad is because they know the quality here is very very low.

Why did I say double it? That way 1 fee paying student can subsidize the fees for a poor student and it will still be less than going abroad. That solves the problem of affordability for poor students and raises the quality of the degrees. It also ensures that both rich and poor can obtain good degrees that are worth more in the market than N45,000 salary.

People are paying hundreds of thousands, and some millions, with nothing tangible in terms of equivalent benefits to that. If you put the tuition to be closer or equal that of the foreign (Western) institutions, it will still be the same show and the money will be looted and nothing to show for that. The problem is in the systems, the leaders and the environment.

I don't think it's about population because China have population and they are doing well.
The Nigerian institutions are weak and we can't achieve anything with weak institutions.
So you wanna compare your history with China now? How old is your civilization? Did you know even China have been conducting forced abortion just to control their birth rate?

This is what you get when you cannot match a population boom with rapid development. We multiplied too fast, and I'm not even excusing the mismanagement of funds by successive administrations.

However though, even if funds were not mismanaged, we wouldn't still be able to provide enough employment for the number of graduates we keep producing yearly.

Canada, US, and other developed countries kept introducing policies to ensure people don't immigrate too much and overwhelm their infrastructures. Which measures have Nigeria taken to ensure neighboring countries don't immigrate into Nigeria at will.

Do you even have any idea how many Non Nigerians we are having to cater for without even knowing? To get State of origin from any state in Nigeria is as easy as drinking water.

Let's tackle our fundamental issues first. Other things can then be addressed.

I see the reason UK people are extremely stingy. I have one 58 year old England woman i have been chatting with for almost 2 years now. She calls me her baby boy etc always wanting me with her online 24/7 but when i ask for money to solve a problem she becomes stingy with it. Telling me she has only £9 in her bank account.

You see it's ridiculous. I always get angry with her most times.

You are attempting to fleece a 58-year old and you are still proud of it.

Your kind is the reason the whites look down on us.

Go get a life. Go get a job.

You are not earning in Pounds to spend in Naira.

Who GUARANTEES you a job?

Nigerians and exaggeration all in an attempt to score a cheap point.

No one guarantees you a job. Finish your PhD and start the search for a job, if you do not get a job after certain period, you will be asked to leave the UK with your certificate. They do not care!
