I think it is.
With determination, the person should be able to recoup the money after sometime but that cannot be said about Nigerians presently working as most can't even afford to save from their salary due to high inflation.

He will probably recoup it from the ground.

40mil we'll see.

If after spending that type of money you don't get a job that pays at least $15,000 a month then it's a wasted venture as far as I'm concerned undecided

You are too pedestrian

I'm not sure you know anything about quality

you typically have a LIMITED number of hours you can work as an international student

you are there on a study visa, not a work visa

What did he achieve at last? That should be the question.
Working in the UK. In few years to come, he would have recovered all working with UK min wage

It was 2.5M Naira in my time 12 years ago. The school was affordable compared to top universities. The topic is incomplete. Where is his picture and the graduation event? A moderator created the topic out of his backside or stole a random write-up off X (I don’t care for the old name).
No UK school is affordable again. 12yrs ago, they came here begging us to come and study there but from 2020 or there about, the japa syndrome shoot up the number of applications they are getting and hence the increase in their tuition fee

One of my businesses is job recruitment / headhunting.

I can tell you unequivocally that many many companies in Nigeria are employing purely based on merit.

One of the secrets of success is to start by changing your mindset.

If you believe that you can make it purely on merit, you actually will!
I will keep tab on your success rate because I know equivocally that majority of jobs gotten in Nigeria are connection based.

How does a security man gets to save million + extra in the UK after rent, bills and other exigencies.

You guys can lie for Africa.

What comfortable place are you referring to ?. A box room in a shared apartment?

Stop misleading people here, Mr.

That is part of the problem we have in this part of the world - MAUDLIN SENTIMENT!

It is almost impossible to engage in an intellectual discussion with a sentimental person.

The sentiment is why many believe that the streets of other countries are paved with 24 carat gold.

They resign good jobs, sell off their houses, cars, appliances and in some cases their parents' houses as well, and leave Nigeria with no solid plan, just to become 3rd class citizens abroad.

Truly appalling!

You do not need to spend that high to "escape" from Nigeria

That amount alone can move a family of 4.

I guess the person wasn't that useful in Nigeria in the first place to have needed to spend that high.

Someone with a useful life in Nigeria doesn't need to spend that high to change location. (Just one person)
You really don't understand life. Do you know the average salary of a masters degree holder in UK?
With a job in the UK, he can recoup the money in less than a year. It's so worth it.

You're the one assuming abeit natively.

It was before "master degree" meant something in the UK. He didnt go do masters in the UK just to earn big money, the schooling route was to get into the UK.

You be novice (no insult intended).

It's not that bad.

Make una no dey use the extreme to define things.

Most of the people I know that graduated and currently working aren't earning anything below ₦100k.

Some are as high as ₦400k-₦900k
The average salary of a professor on a Nigerian university is less than ₦300k. Most Nigerian graduates earn less than 80k.
Below is the salary scale for the University of Ibadan. Their yearly salary.

Okay, so?
Is the argument about lecturers?

Everywhere in the world, lecturers aren't the highest paid.

Just wondering what brought about the earnings of professors.

Do you realise that before you can trigger the post study, you need to pay.

Let us do a little calculation here.

Let us assume You, your wife and two children relocate to the UK. You are the student, they are the dependants. Whenever you want to trigger the post study, each of you will pay 4000GBP, which equals to 16,000GBP. That is a whole lot of money in UK standard.

Think about it.
my post says for a single person..

Also post study is around £2950 or say £3k per person

Now you are showing your stupidity. Even if the aim was just to get to the UK, now he has the masters, would he throw it into the sea or use it to advance himself?
My boy, that's what we call a win win. He left Nigeria, advanced himself professionally and earns a salary that is meaningful and can support his people back home in Nigeria.

Lol.A friend of mine attended a private University in Nigeria then and his parents spent millions of naira for him to graduate.
When he eventually graduated, the job he got was paying him just 60 000 naira.
He has relocated to UK now.

You are right, I have a former colleague then too, who finished from covenant University, came to multichoice call centre with us to pick 140 out bound calls for 45k then, with we that finished in piblic schools, after spending millions of naira on convenat school fee, came to collect 45k as salary...

When she was introducing herself, when she was being on boarding, I was forced to ask her in loud voice what she was doing here, everybody just laugh out loud...

Average pay for a professor in the UK is £90,891.
This is actually a very good pay by UK standards.
In the US, it is $1,63,968. You should have made your research because replying. Stop being lazy.

Also the quality of schools my children attend is far greater than those paying 5m per term in Nigeria. And these schools are completely free of charge.. Uniform sef free.. Shoes free.. If u know ur way.

Now can 40m naira get me all these and more?..
