Col. Arthur Unegbe the Igbo officer who was killed in Lagos by Ademoyega, Ifeajuna and co. in the 'Igbo' coup.

Funny country.

What is funnier is that out of the 7 coups that happened in Nigeria, this is the only one they gave ethnic tag

This is a country where a renowned coup plotter like Buhari was elected and re-elected President

A country where the Bloodiest coup plotter in west Africa was put on the 20 Naira note

Unegbe was Asaba and was the only Igbo Speaker killed by the Jan 1966 Coup

There are 2 stories about why he was killed

The first was that he refused to give up the Armoury keys to the Coup plotters

The second was that he and Maimailari were tight friends and he was certain to retailiate against any attack on Brigadier Maimailari who was killed during the Coup

Whichever way you look at it he was killed for his Loyalty

Col Arthur Unegbe was a fine intelligent officer from OZUBULU, not Asaba

Are you satisfied with the bastardization of this nation for the past 64 years? No wonder you kind gave Nigeria the worst kind of leadership in Buhari and Tinubu

We know the TRIBE that shedded innocent blood all because of their lust for power. Till date they are still battling with a very EVIL CURSE which is a result of their own greed.

All you Igbos keep doing is celebrating and wallowing nostalgically in a “great past” because you are nothing of worth in the presents and will likely be nothing beyond mediocre tomorrow.

You now have Kanu and Ekpa leading instead of these so-called great men while your political leaders are cowards who hide and beg only to be viewed fifth class by those they lead and even other Nigerians.

If the OP is not an irredeemable sadist and weakling, used to blaming others for his woes as most of you disgraceful modern Igbos today are about, he would not be starting this silly thread that will only make intelligent posters remind the Igbos how low they have sunk.

If Igbos have even the smallest powers of introspection, you should all be in the corners of your room asking how you got to this pathetic stage today rather than looking to blame ‘machination’ of the North and West for your current, self-inflicted and pathetic reality.

that was the main grouse of the northerners that led to the progrom and killings of the igbos in northern Nigeria because they felt Nzeogwu was selective in the killings and specifically that of Sir Ahmadu bello whom they revered so much, that ill feelings is still innate in them till this day, i do believe that there should be truth and reconciliations efforts between this two enthnicities to heal those deep wounds once and for all

What reconciliation can be brokered with those who only know how to buga hypocritically?

Look at the heartbreaking thread below. You think you will ever see Gidgiddy, rabid and sworn worshippper of Kanu, comment there?

No, because such is a thread sane people only leave curses for Kanu for opening the gates of hell in Ala Igbo that will now not close.

What of the hypocrite Racoon? Son of Ekezwesili, worshipper of Obi and brother to Chimamanda etal who only shout about affairs outside Ala Igbo but will never show face in the IPOB show of shame below?

Well, the Nigeria you have achieved since 1960 has turned out today to be world poverty capital,
8th most insecure country on earth and an all round disaster. So those who fought to try and get out of that disaster were right to do so, even if they did not succeed

What were your leaders doing when the born-to-rule power mongers were forcing the colonial masters to rig the system for their exclusive favor?

Why didn’t your myopic leaders protest by insisting on having their own independent country where merit & competition will be the criteria for recruitment?

Una no dey shame. Always blaming Northerners for your political enslavement when you should be blaming your own MUMU leaders.

Racoon:
The colonial masters ensured merit counts to the letter
Only the most brilliant and academic sound goes to Sandhurst Military Academy( SMC) England where they spend about two(2) to earn the Queen's commission as second lieutenants. This was the case with Gowon, Alexander Madiebo, Maimalari, Nwawo, and host of others.

Meanwhile, others not deemed academic sound or fit are often sent to Mons Officers Cadet School Aldershot- England and other British military training institutions.

Everything was going on well until the born-to-rule feudal powermongers can't stand it anymore hence decided to start forcing the colonial master to introduce the skewed and defective quota system criteria to smuggle those who eventually bastardized the military and ended up do same to Nigeria's politico-military journey.

Oh really? You don't know that Igbos were been massacred by Northerners long before this? Google the Jos massacre of 1945 or the Kano massacre of 1953. The killing of Igbos in the North had already started long before any coup

As I say all the time, the white man should never have brought us together, it is a union thst has brought nothing but fighting and suffering

You know many of your Biafra soldiers said the same.

Many that Ipob killed in their own locality, said the same.

You lot are the real Bigots and you are surprised others would never be your pushovers.

You undertook a coup, killed leaders of other regions and left yours to escape.

Resisted a seccession clause in the national statute.

You embarked on a war and lost, yet the Victors were magnanimous enough to draw you nearer.

Years later, you want the presidency but think you can get it by force or by blackmail.

Others are letting you know that there are ways to do it which others have subjected themselves to.

You think you are too big yet you are as tiny as ants.

Cubana Chief Priest, said the other day, that homegrown insecurity has driven them all from congregating in the east.

Somehow , you keep blaming others .
