Educate yourself and know what pension stands for.

It was never designed as the funds to build house.
I never said it was to build house, I only reacted to what the person I quoted said. Teacher

How possible is it to make withdrawal from one's savings?

You must be kidding. How can we vote someone that we know is against Islam. We will deal with him in the next election. You think we've forgotten the audio tape incidence?

You're talking about next election when you don't even know who will be alive then. You should be concerned with how you will survive the present APC - induced hardship.

Life and Death is based on God's mercies. But let me remind you once again, The North will not vote Obi. It is a pure fact and he will never get the required 25 percent. By God's grace

Voluntary contribution is different from the normal monthly contributory pension deduction.

Don't get it wrong
He is still correct.. the article is talking about voluntary contributions. But with mandate contributions, you can collect 25% after being out of a job for 4months.
He just mistook mandatory for voluntary.

PFAs should be paying interest..
Imagine holding someone finds for many years....making use of it without pay interest of a dime and when you want to access your fund it becomes a very long thing..
Ask maina ..
If you check your statement of account, you will see that you are being paid interest. Your money grows there.

Wow
So someone can access pension funds while still working
I thought it is if you are out of job after 2 months
Or you are above 50
No, you cannot. The article says voluntary pension contribution. Some people opt to pay this aside their mandatory pension contribution. So it's this voluntary one they're withdrawing from.
The normal mandatory one is as you described.

No need advertising your ignorance early morning.

The balance on your PFA quarterly balance changes every quarter as you get your statement of account. Meaning, the money is working and intetest is being earned on it.

I keep wondering how you guys just type out of ignorance. Is it for the likes or what?
I am not seeing any growth oga

There is no way out. The pension fund is designed as a funds for people to fall back on after retirement. It is something a retiree will be collecting in peace meal when they are no longer working.

However, you can assess 25 percentage of the balance on your account if you lose your job and cannot get another job after three months.

You can assess additional 25 percentage of the balance when you get to the age of 50.

It is not a fund to assess the moment you are in need of money for valentine treat.

Shalom!.

So whats the best solution. So nobody should have pension again?
GanagiBitrus:

The pension scheme is a very noble scheme but it has been messed up by the high rate of inflation.
If you had ₦10m saved in your scheme last year, that same amount is now worth less than ₦5m because of high inflation.

Same with saving money in a bank.
The situation is quite terrible.

And it's a one-off thing as you can't withdraw the 25% now and do it again in the future. Policies should be revised to make the withdrawal twice or more.

If one resign or was dismissed from office, is he going to get pension?
atobs4real:

Don't always jump to conclusions without reading the body of the message.
What was withdrawn was voluntary contribution pension which I also have but not yet touched. Our compulsory pension is still their until we retired, dismissed or resign after 3months of any of the happenings.
