Rivers Crisis: Police Barricade Of LG Secretariats To Continue, Says IGP by TheElites19s: 3:26pm On Jun 20
The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun has directed the continuation of the police barricade on local government secretariats in Rivers State to prevent a breakdown of law and order.

IGP Egbetokun gave the directive while fielding questions from journalists in Abuja on the sideline of a Conference with Commissioners of Police and other Senior Officers.

He said the police will continue to occupy the secretariats until a court of competent jurisdiction delivers judgment on the local government crisis in Rivers State.

The IGP who also spoke on the controversy over the recruitment of constables and the allegations by the Police Service Commission (PSC) said the management of the Force will not sit idly and watch questionable and untrainable persons recruited into the police.

Egbetokun maintained that the Nigeria Police Force is a specialised institution that is not meant for all Nigerians.

We need state police in Nigeria more than ever before to address the excesses of federal police being used by unscrupulous politicians to undermine the powers of sitting governors.

As if you won't disappear once the presidency on whose order you're there ask you to vacate.

You should arrest those LG chairmen who refused to vacate office after the expiration of your tenures. Na them cause this wahala.

Does it mean that if judgment is not given, the CTC will not access the council?
I think the governor will have to do something soon.

Very good. Now they are slowly waking up. Get Chijioke Ihunwo, Boma Goodhead, Asari Dokubo, Edison Ehie (wanted felon) and other miscreants and perpetrators of the mayhem in Rivers State arrested.

What is their gain in closing it?

The governor can get new offices for the Local govenments and start working from there, would the police go and close those ones again under what excuse?

Na street Chairmen Gov. Fubara sworn in.

That's on a lighter side..

But, come to think of it, why will you call a Governor Chief Security of a State and they technically don't have that power

Something is really wrong with us

Wherever wealth is found, crisis of divide and rule gets induced in the area.
People in Rivers state were not originally know for thuggery.
In the SE zone, we see what looks like Igbos killing Igbos. But never in history did the phenomenon exist.
Nigeria at war with its people because of natural resources.

Return to True and Fiscal federalism under zonal or regional government system; we see these rumblings in Nigeria end.

Don't mind that clueless ingrate called Fubara and his gullible supporters of illegalities. They will face the law.
