Somewhat fast.
Although, it's been in development for almost two years now. I was expecting shooting maybe December or early next year.

HBO rightly known they can't be skipping GOT content for a whole year. So they got to accelerate things. We should have had two prequels already showing by now if not for HBO canceling BLOOD MOON at the last minute, after a whole pilot episode was already filmed for $30mn.

The security was just weird.

The king himself could have easily been assassinated by a bow.

These guys literally walked right past the King and his guards at night.

The security was way too lax.

They were even walking freely around the hallway as if no guards were on night shift.

But I think their boldness plus the fact that they came as ratcatchers meant no one batted an eyelid

I didn't understand the security setup as well

Same here, I was expecting release date would be late 2025, it's not like HBO don't have other cashcows

I shared a pic from Blood moon here once, it showed Naomi Watts as a Lannister ancestor in Casterly Rock, too bad the pilot never aired

Who she pointed at in the book was not who was killed because she pointed at Maleor.

There are usually guards outside of the door front of each royal family quarters .. how come it happened that there was non outside the quarter of the King's heir ..

To me, they missed the plot of that scene ..

House of The Dragon is set 100 years before Game of Thrones.

And this story, Dunk and Egg happened after Dance of the Dragons (HOTD). It's set not too long ago after the dé@th of the last dragon. And history about the Targaryen War is still fresh in the memory of Westeros.

Walder Frey is prominent in this tale so it's definitely not farther from GOT.
So, around 50 years it is.

But this new prequel The Hedge Knight is not 200-300yrs before Game of Thrones as your saying. It's grossly inaccurate.

The Hedge Knight happens after Dance of The Dragons and before Game of Thrones. It's in between both shows.
80 yrs after HOTD and 90 years before Game of Thrones. So that effectively covers the 170 yr span.

The oldest character in Game of Thrones was Maester Aemon Targaryen. He is widely known to be a hundred year old (102). He's the Elder brother to Aegon V Targaryen whom this story is centred on. The initial name for this series is Dunk and Egg. A play on Ser Duncan the Tall and Aegon Targaryen.
So how come this show is now set over a hundred years before Game of Thrones.

Helaena doesn't even know if its her dreams or its reality. She just shuts down and trying to make sense of the horror.

Rewatching the episode I noticed before Aegon came into the kids room looking for his son, she whispered 'they come for the boy'🤯🤯🤯 and when she said she was scared of 'the rats' she looked directly at the children's bed chamber!!!!! That's insane detail!
The same thing happened in season 1 - when Alicent was talking to Aemond when he complained they gave - she told him he'd have a dragon soon, Haelena whispered 'he'd lose an eye for it' ! MIND BLOWN

Nah, that's a lie. The person I replied asked how many years difference between the new prequel I posted The Hedge Knight and Game of Thrones. Of which I responded to. There was no mention of HOTD in any of our posts.

I'm not sure about that yet. Earlier this month HBO and Max chief executive Casey Bloys said Sam Levinson was writing and polishing the script. Bloys mentioned it slated for 2025 alongside Derry (the prequel TV show to the IT horror films). Original plan was to release this year but the strikes delayed it.

So if he finishes writing by September, filming can start late 2024 or early 2025 and release in Fall next year. Although, there's still a possibility of the show delaying into 2026 but I highly doubt it would be allowed that long cos it would mean a 4 year gap between the previous season. Also, it's basically a drama, unlike other prestigious HBO shows with bigger sets and CGI requirements. So it would require lesser months for filming to post-production.

The only major reason I'm considering it possibly delayed till 2026 is because of the schedule of the actors and their newfound success after the show with Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Hunter Schafer and Jacob Elordi getting attached to more upcoming projects.

Side note. I've been seeing bridgerton talks and the info appears but I always discarded it.

Yesterday for some reason the trailer for S1 was playing and i heard the narrators voice and it intruiged me. So I pressed play.

I'm hooked. It's like a relief from everything I've been watching. It's just exactly what I néed right now.

I'll be sticking to this one and Queen Charlotte for the rest of the month.

With all the rave about Bridgerton, I still haven't watched it. It has been giving "ladies kind of show" vibes. But with this your comment, I will try to see the first 3 episodes.

Edit: I just watched the trailer of season 1, I will be skipping this one grin
