Is like u didn't read the article finish. Egypt use 2.7 billions dollars to generate 28,234 megawatt in a less short period. I don't know if I'm to cry. Men we are behind in everything. We have spent more but have little.
tsdarkside:
you nigerians still don't get it that electricity is expensive....

Dangote achieved it because he has enough money to go his own way....

many middle men depend on the nigerian power sector....
getting rid of the middle men will be the biggest challenge....

you nigerians remember the generator middle men....??

Hi,

If you want to mention how voting a particular Candidate will have improved this,YOU HAVE TO TELL US HOW MANY POWER PLANT THAT PERSON BUILT FOR HIS STATE AS GOVERNOR!

ESPECIALLY,HOLIER THAN THOU CLAIMING SANNI ABACHA BOY

Enough of bamboozing
How does this garbage have any relationship with the thread?

Secondly, the bolded is just another way to show how unlearned u are!

As at 1999 till 2023,no state government was permitted to generate, transmit and distribute electricity because electricity was still under the exclusive list....in other words,it was under the control of the federal government and not the state!

It was during the ineffectiveness of electricity in Nigeria that the last national assembly forced Buhari to sign into law a bill to remove electricity from the exclusive to concurrent list!
This law was sign last year!
This law gave the state government the power to generate, transmit and distribute electricity in their domain!

So why blame a former governor for not building a power plant when there is a law stopping them then from producing electricity?

Ok, now, how does this solve the problem at hand. You did not even care to know who and who were the power ministers. Bringing Peter Obi who has never worked in power sector before. How does that explain the reason why power and electricity kept being our nightmare in Nigeria. We need constructive criticism. Mention Peter Obi where it is relevant so that the discussion will get good results. Anyways we play a lot in this country. Catching cruise to forget what we are going through in this NIGERIA. No sector is working.
The guy needs to mention Obi so that it will be enough to cover his 30k stipends!

Power problem in Nigeria is not in the generation of power. You can sit in any location in Nigeria and generate huge MW.

Problem is in the distribution and transmission. The infrastructure required is enormous couple with frequent power infrastructure theft in the country.

I think the Siemens deal that late Abaa Kyari signed in Germany was to address the power distribution infrastructure in the country.

And you won't be granted access to this market until you attain the utmost level of expertise as a thief with significant political influence.

It's quite intriguing to consider a thief who is shielded by the law and supported by armed forces. What do you call it? A legal thief!

If one were to consider the future prospects of Nigeria, it is important to acknowledge the current state of affairs. Unfortunately, the individuals in positions of power have sown seeds that will likely perpetuate the existing problems (their godsons), making it difficult to envision significant futuristic improvement. So it's clear nothing will change unless godsons like Fubara refuse godfathers like Wike the so-called rites (the state's money).

Nigeria has a long way to go in terms of improvement. Every election year, you'll be persuaded to vote for yet another disaster, and guess what? Yes, you will.

Only a mad man keeps trying one route always expecting to reach Botswana. You continue to repeat the same action and hope for a different outcome. You have not only caused harm to yourself, but also to the future prospects of your children.

I like the truth parboiled so it hits you differently.

Checkmate: the three major contenders in the last election are three popular failures and you pretend like you have no choice if you select a different person and as if you are left with only those three. Was a gun pointed to your head! There were very many presidential aspirants and even many for your state governance too! I could even remember Sowore for one. At least, he has no bad records yet and has shown the zeal. He's also young and has a different mindset. Don't get me wrong, he may not be the saint, but at least, he's different from the old men system of govt ruining Nigeria.

But whenever he spoke, I see many comments about how he "can never win." And if you asked them the reasons why, they divert to unreasonable debate.

One side keeps shouting: "It will favour me and my family." Hope your family are enjoying the flavours of the favours?

This side are the major problems of the country.

If he had vision, he would have led by example using precedent...not jetting to Egypt to learn rubbish and score political points.

Another group kept shouting: "Atikulate." One, this group don't even have any point to make. Their patron was a vice and the best investment he did was steal (according to his boss, OBJ). He doesn't even stay in Nigeria that much. How can he not stay in the country he was a vice president to? Shows he doesn't like the ruin to affect him.

But your fish brain said there were only three and you know they were failures but gaslighted yourself as having no choice but choose from either of them.

You contributed to how the country is. And you suffer for it too.

The irony is that the major lobbyists of this calamitous govt are not even permanent residents of the country. They are abroad shouting emi lo kan must rule. Soon you will hear FG calling the refinery out for

Unfortunately, they can't. NNPC and other equally powerful persons have a stake in it.

Dangote's money there is just about $4bn (out of $20bn). So how many principalities will government fight?

Was Nigeria better powered under 16 years of PDP government? No, it has always been darkness everywhere.

Darkness in government operations

Darkness in business

Darkness in politics

Darkness over the environment

Darkness in music

Darkness in interpersonal relationship

Darkness even in religious practices

Therefore everyone of us should renounce darkness and come into the Light of God to save this wretched country.

Nigeria is a pyramid scheme.

Even you with your story is still living in illusion. People say Sowore can't win because election is not by voting in Nigeria. Tinubu did not win because of anybody's vote. He is still going to be president in 2027. Try to understand the Nigeria situation first before you begin to talk about it. The only person that can change the tide in Nigeria is the INEC chairman. Apart from that, election will always go to the highest bidder. That's the fact. So, stop blaming Nigerians for voting this or that person, vote of Nigerians did not count in the last election. It was only Goodluck Jonathan that allowed free and fair election because he decided not to cage INEC. APC that I know will cage INEC for at least 32 years. That's if there's no revolution by then.

This is the first time I am seeing a decent and informative post from you. You looked stupid when you were always posting those useless animations here. You better grow up!

Is like u didn't read the article finish. Egypt use 2.7 billions dollars to generate 28,234 megawatt in a less short period. I don't know if I'm to cry. Men we are behind in everything. We have spent more but have little.

There is something fishy about the statistics quoted in the article. In broad terms $1mln will give you 1MW. So $2.7bln should give roughly 2700MW. How did it then generate 28,000MW!?

3 Gorges dam in China cost roughly $25bln and outputs 18,200MW!!

Meanwhile, na wettin dem write be this o....

For example, between December 2015 and December 2018, Egypt, a country of 114 million people, added 28,229 million MW to its national system, bringing its total installed capacity to 58,818 MW. This was accomplished, according to the International Trade Administration of the US Department of Commerce, through a fast-track initiative that installed 3,636 MW of power in 8.5 months at a cost of $2.7 billion.

99.9999 of Nigerian leaders are very senseless and shameless

Yea, it's a perfect sampling from the society at large. They're not colonial masters. But of course you don't see that because you're part of the latter and can never be blamed for anything.
