European Missionaries

They brought the Holy Bible not to proselytize Africans into Christianity but to enslave them. These missionaries taught Africans the verses of the Holy Bible pertinent to slavery. Consequently, the latter accepted the Holy Bible and their land was taken by the former.

Verses of Slavery in the Holy Bible

1 Peter 2:18
Slaves should remain submissive, with every fear, to masters, not only those who are good and gentle, but also to those who are crooked.

1 Timothy 6:1 6
All who are under the yoke of slavery should consider their masters worthy of full respect, so that God’s name and our teaching may not be slandered.

1 Corinthians 7:21
Were you a slave when you were called? Don’t let it trouble you—although if you can gain your freedom, do so.

Colossians 3:22
Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to curry their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord.

Exodus 21:20-21
When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. If, however, the slave survives for a day or two, he is not to be punished, since the slave is his own property.

Ephesians 6:5 NLT
Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ.

1 Timothy 6:1-2
Christians who are slaves should give their masters full respect so that the name of God and his teaching will not be shamed. If your master is a Christian, that is no excuse for being disrespectful. You should work all the harder because you are helping another believer by your efforts. Teach these truths, Timothy, and encourage everyone to obey them.

Luke 12:47-48
The servant will be severely punished, for though he knew his duty, he refused to do it. “But people who are not aware that they are doing wrong will be punished only lightly. Much is required from those to whom much is given, and much more is required from those to whom much more is given.”

If it's NOT Malachi 3:10, Pastors don't preach it.

Funniest patt is that EXTREMELY educated people still haul The Bible around. They still take it as the UNQUESTIONABLE Word of God.

A book that ENDORSES slavery so many times and so EMPHATICALLY should have ZERO bearing on how people live their lives.

Christians cherry-pick and are WILLFULLY blind to parts they don't like.

For instance, King David MURDERED a man because of ordinary pussy YET the Saviour of all mankind is his descendant.

Then there is the issue of King Solomon. Read Ecclesiastes where the dude kept screaming that EVERYTHING IS USELESS.

Read Ecclesiastes with critical reasoning and you'll realise Solomon was DEPRESSED. That's a dude who needed THERAPY not veneration.

All these are lies. Colonial masters were not all Christians. Among them were atheists, Muslims, christians, cultists, etc.

A servant in the Bible verses you quoted refers to workers or staff. They were called servants in those days. They're paid wages just as salaries are paid today.

And of cause, if you find yourself in the position of a slave, is it the right thing to rebel against your master who had legally made you his slave? Slavery at the time was done as a result of wars or indebtedness. A person can become a slave to pay off his debts. The slaves were never raided in Bible times.

Stop spreading lies.

The missionaries who brought Christianity never owned slaves. They establish free schools, free universities, distributed free clothings, etc. Most of them died poor while serving Africans. The missionaries never colonized anyone.

See how uneducated you are? A book that was the first to command and compell the release of slaves

if a slave escapes do not return him. Deuteronomy 23:15

Leviticus 25:17 "Ye shall not therefore oppress one another; but thou shalt fear thy God:"

Exodus 23:9 "Thou shalt not oppress a stranger:

Exodus 20:21 "Thou shalt neither vex a stranger nor oppress him:

Exodus 20:22 "ye shall not afflict ...a fatherless child".

Exodus 23:2 "Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil:"

Exodus 23:6 "Thou shalt not wrest the judgement of thy poor in his cause"

David murdered a man and was punished worst than any man had ever seen, to the point that his own sons bleeped his wives and concubines.as if it was not punishment enough.

Yet ignoramus like you will not see these things but to open their stupid mouths and spill faeces.

Add to the list the Bible verses that Muslims use to persecute and put to death those who they accuse of blaspheming their Allah and Mohammed as revealed at the link below.🤔

Comprehension issues as usual. Can't see where i mentioned followers🤦🏽. Anyways to make it clear for the "smart ones". If you can trace the origins of your religion be it followers of christ, holy or unholy spirit... whatever, back to Abraham your religion is major crap, EOD! 🤭

It's interesting how we've mostly all come to the conclusion that slavery and ownership of another human is immoral now a days, inspite of the Quran and Bible being permissive of it.

And things are slightly better for it, compared to the needless human suffering because of slavery in the past.

You don't know what comprehension is all about that's why you don't know what to say...

This is where Christianity started from, know this and have peace boy

Acts 11:26

And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.

Christianity started from Antioch when people saw Christ's like in the behaviours, characters and lives of the disciples

loll! comprehension issues wrapped with stone cold ignorance. The so called jesus that christianity is modelled after i wonder which religion he practiced. Also i wonder which patriach his genealogy can be traced to according to matthew and luke. Even a retarded 5yr old with down syndrome knows christainity is an offshoot of Judaism( the tanakh/old testament/hebrew bible) which is traced back to Abraham through isaac like Islam is through Ishmael and that's fact. Claiming antioch as a selective tangent wouldn't change hard facts. It wouldn't also stop it from being nonsense like judaism and islam. Comprende smart one😁

Ouch! Here i thought we were becoming friends😁 but there u went getting all triggered and emotional, anyways i got time. Not surprising though its the usual m.o. Get emotional and triggered then reach in the passive aggressive bag of ad hominems, vague platitudes or stale threats of the after life, tale as old as time. Beautiful cognitive dissonance though.

Which i find extremely funny and ironic cause the "divine being" u r getting defensive and worked up over usually didn't reach into that bag during his "human life", even said not to act that way talked about something called fruits of the spirit which all seems to vanish the moment you guys get triggered😄. The hypocritical "christ like" virtues and fruits of the spirit and subjective moral standards disappear into thin air like something out of the carbonaro effect.

Got so triggered that u tried as much as possible to go on a tangent to deflect from and outright deny ur patriarch cause of connections to a similar nonsense religion , copied the vocab of a so called atheist(cause that's how simple u guys minds are, anyone who doesn't share in your particular brand of the nonsense cool aid is an atheist), cause urs is obviously limited and unimaginative, quite sad.

You get defensive about ur religion been called nonense but do the same to your religious cousins which share the same patriarch as you, same cloth, same joke of a religion. Your religious text can be used to justify any pov or perspective you want by interpreting whichever way u deem fit and its not nonsense?! Heck you guys have interpreted your texts in more than 40,000 ways with u guys at each other's necks over who's interpretation is correct claiming the others are going to hell, and its not nonsense?! Your joke of a religion can be used to justify slavery, incest, infanticide, genocide, racism, tribalism, physical discrimination, sexism and  sexual assault hypocrisy, lack of empathy and its not nonsense?!

Your texts contradict itself at every turn and its not nonsense?! No homogeneity as you selective choose where to adhere to and discard in your texts depending on the denomination u belong out of the 40,000+ and its not nonsense. With texts written several decades after the events they describe by people who did not experience the events and then falsely attributed to people who did and its not nonsense?!: Original manuscripts of the texts written in a lanuage not spoken by most anymore and then lost and what you have are severally redacted, edited, compiled copies of copies of copies and its not nonsense?!

You all don't even use the same bible depending on which of the sects you belong and its not nonsense?! You know what?! You are right, its not nonsense, its not just only nonsense but a hot steaming pile of shit and garbage
that deludes itself as better than other similar piles of shit and a big joke. A big unfunny joke founded on hubris and indoctrination. I wonder who's the bigger fool here😄

Goddamn!!! I love you! grin

It's interesting how we've mostly all come to the conclusion that slavery and ownership of another human is immoral now a days, inspite of the Quran and Bible being permissive of it.

You just saw it up here that the bible never supported slavery,

if a slave escapes do not return him.

Yet, you pretended as if you did not see it. See how prove you anti God people are evil pretencious folks?

And things are slightly better for it, compared to the needless human suffering because of slavery in the past.

Thats why you are the fool here for every normal person knows that every statement and text can be twisted and intepreted in any evil or good way depending on the intepreter.

Which is why every one is thought to interprete in Good way aka bonafide way (unless evil is clear) and not evil ways which is how you devils and atheists always view a thing because they are full of evil.

I said "permissive" not "support" don't twist my words.

And are you going to honestly argue that the Bible didn't say the quoted scripture in the OP?

This is a different type of struggle fam, which is still bad, however ownership over another human is mostly outlawed around the world and very very few people will try to justify slavery today like they did in the past.

You can quit your Job and leave and no one is going to hunt you down like an animal and bring you back in chains. So yes things are slightly better.

It's like I'm pointing out it's good smallpox is a thing of the past and you're bringing up malaria exists, both are bad, but both are different diseases.

If you want to discuss the topic of proper compensation for work in this country I'm on board, I believe workers should unionize and demand better compensation. I'm all for worker rights.

To permit is to support a cause of action.

And the Kjv bible shows it in its correct and accurate light and Trutb saying "servants" and not slaves.

For everyone has a duty to serve and has at one time in their life served others, therefore showing The Law that service is allowed. And service work means "servant" hence "civil.servant"

And servant means employee!

But as shown in the bible "whosoever sellls a man (obviously slave trader/human traficker) is liable to die. Exidus 21:16 thereby attacking slave trade.

Whereas, what The Law allowed is Contract of Service/Contract of services, which as you.see is abused by wicked evil people, even today.

So, Exodus 21:16 and all the other Laws i posted have already destroyed and prohibited any form and practice of slavery

As long as you have admitted it is bad i won't push it much but, it is not malaria but small pox upgraded and done without the need of physical chains.

And haven't you seen that slavers today have even curtailed the rights of employees to quit from their service?

Biodun556:

Let me ask U a question since U know so much about slavery and the bible.

If the bible endorsed slavery why did colonial masters produced a different bible for slaves.
Why didn't they allow slaves read form their own bible since the bible in the white man's hand endorse slavery.
Why didn't slaves and the master read the same bible version.

Most every Nation on the planet including the former nations of Israel and Judah described in Scripture all permitted at some point. undecided

NB: The nations of Israel and Judah of Scripture ceased to exist about 2500 and 1900 years ago respectively.
