Commercial crude oil production started in Nigeria in 1956 but local crude oil refining did not start until 1965 when the first crude oil refinery was commissioned. https://nairametrics.com/2024/06/20/ten-completed-refineries-in-nigeria-and-their-production-capacity/#google_vignette 20 Likes 3 Shares

Aside Dangote and the soon to be rehabilitated PH and Warri refinery, the others are mere topping refinery and not sustainable in the medium to long term as value chain optimization is lacking. 27 Likes 3 Shares |

If these smaller refineries exist, where are they getting crude oil? Even dangote refinery is unable to source crude oil locally and is importing from USA. 6 Likes 1 Share |

And yet none of these refineries have products available in the local market? NNPC imports practically everything! So who are the refineries refining for and selling to? 1 Like 1 Share |

Great100000: Are we in the rainy season only, or we are in APC propaganda season as well because of the rate at which these propaganda lies are dropping is seriously serious. Why have the prices of petrol and diesel not crashed with these 10 refineries and their phantom production capacities Reasonable Nigerians want to know. anthonykezy: 87 Likes 3 Shares |

Out of your ten completed refineries only five are operational till date. But that’s not the catch. Out of twenty-five licensed modular refineries in your country, not a centilitre of (PMS) petrol has ever and will ever be produced because they’re all designed to produce (AGO) Diesel! The govt just pays lip service to the people, the petrol that all but controls the life of everyone in this nation is in a firm death grip at the hands of the FG! When someone says Nigerians are one of the most overtasked & overtaxed people on the planet, dullards in love with their chains or still eating 'papa thank sir' can never relate! 5 Likes 1 Share |
