Armybabe what zone are you in? That will determine when you can plant and whether your seeds will grow or not |
Re: Food Section Derailer’s Paradise: All Food Lovers Are Welcome by armyofone(m): 6:13am On Jun 21 |
cococandy: Cocobabes, for now westcoast. Any idea when to plant the seeds I listed ? |
Re: Food Section Derailer’s Paradise: All Food Lovers Are Welcome by cococandy(f): 8:31am On Jun 21 |
armyofone: Oh I see. Well west coast can be very varied. Like in Oregon/Washington state it’s like zone 4 (cool weather crops) but up in California it’s zone 9 (warm weather crops) I’ve not grown ugu here but since it is a pumpkin, I would plant it in the spring/summer so I can harvest in the fall like other pumpkins. The garden eggs I would also plant during the warm months because egg plants love warm (not hot) weather. So spring planting as well and harvest in the summer. The scent leafs are perennial. if you’re in California I think you’re golden. It will do well anytime the ground is not freezing. I didn’t garden at all when I lived in Washington so I don’t know how that part of the west coast does with certain plants but I’m sure the scent leaf will do well in warm weather. Lucky you. I would love a scent leaf bush |

cococandy: Thanks sis babes ! Any specific soil to buy ? Any idea about Africa Voilet ? |
Re: Food Section Derailer’s Paradise: All Food Lovers Are Welcome by cococandy(f): 5:36pm On Jun 21 |
armyofone: When I landscaped my backyard, the guy that did it filled the beds with soil. I don’t think he used a specific store bought soil. But sometimes after harvest, I usually top off with the generic one from Costco (miracle gro). Then every time I seed or transplant seedlings, I use organic starter fertilizer (EB Stone Organics brand). I also add kitchen scraps as I go. Africa violet is pretty but I haven’t grown it before. Download the app; “farm your yard”. It helps me when I’m not familiar with a new crop I’m trying to grow 2 Likes |

cococandy: Thanks cococandy babes! It was nice to have your landscapers add real soil. The African violet is a soil. I can't find real soil at Lowes or home depot. I will check some small businesses for real soil. 1 Like |

Abeg who has ever tried making akara or moimoi with soybeans? |
Re: Food Section Derailer’s Paradise: All Food Lovers Are Welcome by descarado: 8:21pm On Jun 27 |
HeatSeeker:Hmm. That got me thinking. Soya beans has the highest concentration of protein in beans family. It may not be a bad idea o. Necessity is the mother of invention, you know |

Re: Food Section Derailer’s Paradise: All Food Lovers Are Welcome by HeatSeeker(m): 8:51pm On Jun 27 |

descarado: Can be deadly! May the Lord help all Watch your carbohydrates intake! Be careful of that hefty mound of poundo/eba/semo/tuwo/amala and assortment of meaty soup , rice and assortment of meat, plateful plantain and beans ( I'm not calling Mariangeles oh ) Let's be mindful of over feeding aka enjoyment. Be very hydrated! Drink plenty of water to flush germs out of your body. I don't know if wiping well will help with yeast infections but they say wipe from front to back. Shave down there. Keep it clean and airy. If you are unable to shave yourself, get your guy to turn barber for you it is not like the armpit where you can easily use Nair. Or go pay hefty amount for Brazilian vj wax. |

Re: Food Section Derailer’s Paradise: All Food Lovers Are Welcome by descarado: 6:50am On Jun 28 |
armyofone:Thank you darling. We do not know the corelation between yeast infection and carbohydrate intake. An average naija meal is more than 90% carbohydrate so do the math. Yeast day in day out and marriages, relationships have been broken cos of this. Our people call it std, she or he is dirty down there, bla bla bla, yadayada etc. Not knowing their gut labours microbes cos the flaura is not balanced. Too acidic. And when the gut is in that form, all the orifices are affected. Penis, vagina, butt hole, mouth and even ear. No matter what you apply,it will come back again cos the origin is not yet sorted out. Continue another time.... So these boys that always shout fish smell and meat smell, both you and your partner are ignorant and you that carry the case for head like gala seller should be ashamed too cos you are swimming in ignorance. Even the most educated ones are guilty |

descarado: Tweety dear, I wonder if there is yeast infection in Nigeria? See nobody is interested in the convo. Maybe yeast is just western world bacteria infection that's absent in Nigeria. Maybe it is just HIV and Aids that is common in Nigeria which is very fcu.k related |
Re: Food Section Derailer’s Paradise: All Food Lovers Are Welcome by cococandy(f): 10:03pm On Jul 02 |
They just call everything staphylococcus infection But yeast (aka candidiasis)infection is very much prevalent in our country. armyofone: |

cococandy: People don't know what kills people in naija. I read the infection can be deadly too - (sepsis) when it enters the bloodstream, destroy the kidney overtime etc 1 Like |
Re: Food Section Derailer’s Paradise: All Food Lovers Are Welcome by descarado: 10:26am On Jul 03 |
armyofone:Yeast infection is extremely common in Nigeria. High carb and humid weather The convo isn't for an average nairalander. They are meant to read. I completely forgot this The thing is that we don't know what causes it and how to conquer it Yeast infection + humid weather + raw sex = disaster. Yeast feast on sugar. Carbs are simply sugar molecules. And we Nigerians have sweet tooth. You don't have to use granulated sugar to agree you have sweet tooth. Our food combo is just so sweet. And our so called tea Chocolate drink and white bread. What a way to start the day by the wealthy. Lunch, loads of swallow or rice, dinner, almost the same. Top up with beer or malt drink. Why won't we have yeast infection. No probiotics. No wonder we look 60 when we are 40 with all manner of illness. Made kimchi last week. Saw good winter radish and yum. It's tasty anyway but fermented. When you want probiotics, I think kimchi is number one followed by German sauerkraut.

cococandy:Ask any medical practitioner or the chemist people. It's the most common. And to think that the ministry of health don't create awareness on these things in colleges, health centres and religious gatherings. |
