Today, the atm revolution has done us so much good. You legalise gun but profile whoever you're giving it to. Run a background check on them first before approval and prosecute them, should they abuse it.

There is no country with the profile of Nigeria where it is a good idea to have guns proliferate freely among its citizens - and very few countries in the world (like the US or Switzerland) freely allows most citizens to be eligible for gun ownership. That is not a solution to anything, and would only compound criminality by amplifying the lethality of the crimes. And lol at running background checks in a country with no reliable public database of its citizens.

If the fools you're referring to here are the okada riders, it's just as likely those fools would use their own acquired guns to attack all those agberos extorting them all over Lagos (as they probably should - I absolutely despise the agberos infinitely more than okada riders).

This is a very worrisome scenario, especially for a city that is hyping itself as a mega city and a destination place for foreign investors.
this scene is highly discouraging to potential foreign investors.
The Lagos state government must fish out these barbarians for swift prosecution to serve as a deterrent to future potential criminals, and nobody should be above the law of the land.

So the law enforcement personnel that took him out for illegal job, escape and allowed the mob to attack the civilian and hack to death. I don't think he is a constabulary of police. For those motorcycle riders to have confidence to ride over his lifeless body.

How did the law enforcement recruited him for such exercise? Is the management of the law enforcement aware of the dead civilian recruitment for such exercise?

The security agencies should mandate their personnel for no account a number less than six should go out for raiding.

That is the reason while we see all these touts at times harassing, robbing and attacking innocent citizens because they are numbered.

I blame the Lagos state government for the menace of okada riders (mostly people from the northern region). You allowed them fester and grow in numbers despite most if not all northern states banning okadas.

They come down here to constitute nuisance and you look away because you get votes or some stupid levies from them. These guys ride facing traffic on major express and you as a government have done nothing to combat this madness.

One guy quoted me saying gibberish that my statement is tribalistic. I stated cold hard facts that are easily verifiable. Majority of those that ride okadas in Lagos are from the Northern part of this country.

Amuwo Odofin, Ojo, Idi Araba, some parts of Surulere, some areas of Eti Osa, Lekki, Ajah constitute majority of these people I mentioned riding bikes for commercial purposes.

I Disagree with you my Brother, even if Lagos State should send back all indigenes to their various States, living Lagos indigenes alone.

Fashola succesfully banned anything okada on major roads in Lagos state before he left office. As we speak, there is ban on okadas moving on highways and selected LGAs. This particular road where this act occured is Apapa-Oworoshonki expressway, one of the major highways okadas are banned from using. Taskforce have the right to enforce the laws on these highways and this man lost his life while enforcing (according to the story).
