Muslims understand when non-muslims don't get the point of pilgrimage. From a Christian POV, it's simply needless travel and just like going to Isreal and seeing how messed up their faith really is up close. But in Islam it's different.

Hajj is an act of worship when you understand and perform it properly. Most people come home and just want to put more effort into becoming better persons. It's that beautiful.
