When you become born again, old things are past away and all things are become new. But when you are born again, it does not stop you from apologizing to those you offended in the past, those you defrauded and those you stole from.

There are sins that do not need restitution and there are sins that need restitution. Assuming you had mutual fornication with your "mature" sex partner or prostitute, you dont need restitution to anyone because it was mutual.

You need repentance. But if you forcefully had sex, you need to restitute to the offended after repentance. If you have stolen from people, defrauded or duped people, you need to repent and make restitution.

If you have hurt people so badly, you cannot just stop at repentance.

You need to repent and apologize to them.

And what’s your source? I can’t see any bible verse quoted here.

Restitution is an islamic teaching. In Christianity, it is seen as pride. You can’t absolve yourself of your sins, only Jesus can.

In otherwords, restitution is like saying “ I dont believe the blood of Jesus can save me. Only me can save myself”

Someone says restitution is not biblical but islamical!

One rich man asked Jesus about eternal life.

Jesus told him to obey the commandments,...and follow him.

One of the guys crucified with Jesus too was never born again!

He didn't believe Jesus as son of God. He didn't even know what trinity, Holy spirit, Father means!

He didn't even believe in Jesus dying for his sins!

I watched a video of a man of God that said if a woman had done an abortion in the past, repentance is not enough, that the said woman or man involved must do abortion prayer to be totally free from condemnation. Then I ask myself, I thought the Bible said when one is a new creature, old things are passed away and all things become new.

You should restitute.

The earlier, the better.

If you've done abortions as a lady before, opening up to your fiance will save you a lot of tears.
Firstly, if he decides to go ahead with the marriage, he has decided to admit your past and the possibility that you may not conceive tomorrow.

If that Brother marries you and never knew of such, only to dig out the fact after running from pillar to post seeking for a child tomorrow, he'll lose trust in you and if he chooses to divorce you tomorrow, even the law will back him up.

Imagine the rape case that once tarnished the image of COZA's Fatoyinbo.
Imagine if the man owned up to his wrongs when the incident was still fresh, begged the lady's forgiveness, involved her parents and maybe even served some suspension time in church, he would have put all that behind him and it would not have resurfaced to haunt him when it did.

Restitution clears you of allegations that someone might use as leverage to pull you down when you've become spiritually strong.
The more you grow, the more difficult it becomes to restitute and the more embarrassing it would become if someone brings up such allegations.

Its easier to return a WAEC certificate gotten through cheating as an Olevel student.
By the time you get admission, graduate, go for service, start working; it gets progressively difficult.

If you fell into adultery and genuinely repented without confessing to your spouse, once they get evidence of that escapade from an outside source, they might send you packing because you'll look like the sneakiest, most pretentious religious snake on earth.

Lies! You must do restitution on certain sins especially those of defrauding, stealing and causing division among people.
If not, the judgement would accumulate and break open heavily over one's children and descendants including their business, career.
Repentance in certain cases isn't enough.

Go and reread. New testament is old testament returned because Isreal cast it away.

Which as you still see, they still do not have it nor do they obey God!

Brother, your assumption is wrong.Under certain situations of sin, repentance is not enough. There must be restitution, most especially in sins of fraud, stealing, sowing discord between people.
Even in certain cases of sexual sins, The Holy Spirit can demand you make Restitution, before you are totally delivered.

If the police cought an armed robber, all the stolen items with him must be returned to the owner.

If the holy Spirit arrests the sinner, he should apologise to those he offended.

That is repentance.

Restitution is a must when their is the possibility for you to do it. But in some cases, it is not possible for some genuine reasons so you just have to pray for forgiveness and move on.
