Restitution is a must.
Re: Must A Born Again Christian Do Restitution Or Simply Move Forward? by Augustine2244(m): 10:04am On Jun 23
In many cases of sin, repentance is not enough. There must be Restitution especially in sins of fraud, stealing, sowing seeds of discord, and even certain cases of sexual sins.
If it's not done, judgement would accumulate and eventually break open heavily on the heads of the repented offender's children and descendants.
Oftentimes the Holy Spirit can demand making restitution, before a person is completely free.

Augustine2244:

Lies! You must do restitution on certain sins especially those of defrauding, stealing and causing division among people.
If not, the judgement would accumulate and break open heavily over one's children and descendants including their business, career.
Repentance in certain cases isn't enough.

Whenever I read comments of Nigerian on Nairaland, I feel like we're still in the olden days. I wonder why politicians families keep waxing big and strong after so many stealing, killing and atrocities they commit. All these karmas are for the poor, right? grin

two verses answers this:

old things are pass away, all things have become new

go and sin no More.

with this scripture, restitution is no longer necessary, except if the holy Spirit prompts you to do so, cause restitution is also biblical.

LUKE 19...
And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord: Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.

DO WHAT THIS MAN DID, RETURN ALL THAT YOU HV STOLEN OR APOLOGISE TO THEM.

And what’s your source? I can’t see any bible verse quoted here.

Restitution is an islamic teaching. In Christianity, it is seen as pride. You can’t absolve yourself of your sins, only Jesus can.

In otherwords, restitution is like saying “ I dont believe the blood of Jesus can save me. Only me can save myself”

Confess ur sins to one another

All these politicians getting killed by diverse factors,do you know if it was Judgment rightly deserved or not?

Mention some of these politicians that got killed by diverse factors and their ages when they got killed. Then i will mention 50000 ordinary citizens who got killed in their twenties and their thirties for you. This is for check and balances purposes. Even Nollywood entertainers who live a better moral life than the politicians have died in their numbers while politicians keep waxing strong. Do you want to check that?

Believe whatever you want,Oga.
Evil may last for a while, but in the end,it must surely be punished.
Case closed.

Philemon I :16-18;
Luke 19:8; Acts 3:21

In Philemon 1vs16- 18; Paul's plea for Onesimus, Philemon's servant.
In Luke, Zaccheus stood before Christ his master made restitution. Jesus did not counter him. Neither did Jesus said it is needless.

To show how important it is, in Acts of the apostle, even GOD promised restoration of all things to Israel in fulfillment of His prophecy.

Paul himself apologized to the high priest for using wrong words.

There are sins that do not need restitution and there are sins that need restitution. Assuming you had mutual fornication
Does sin have classes? Abi if you sleep with another person wife you will confess to the husband to make restitution? Or if you marry more than one woman you will pursue them? Who go marry dem

restitution is not a commandment, it's not a law.

it's personal thing, don't enforce it on individual.

as I said earlier, if the holy Spirit prompts you to do it, then by all means do it. but it's not a law

wisdom is profitable to direct

When you become born again, old things are past away and all things are become new. But when you are born again, it does not stop you from apologizing to those you offended in the past, those you defrauded and those you stole from.

There are sins that do not need restitution and there are sins that need restitution. Assuming you had mutual fornication with your "mature" sex partner or prostitute, you dont need restitution to anyone because it was mutual.

You need repentance. But if you forcefully had sex, you need to restitute to the offended after repentance. If you have stolen from people, defrauded or duped people, you need to repent and make restitution.

If you have hurt people so badly, you cannot just stop at repentance.

You need to repent and apologize to them.
Not all restitution can be done. Where it's not achieveable, repent and move forward

What is the worth of a single woman who isn't a virgin?
You and I know that once a woman is disvirgined, she's empty. Except married to a man.

You know the truth but you still cover it.
in fact, you're a finished woman.

Restitution is an integral part of repentance of one's past sin, going home to home and confess to those you have sin against is not part of Christ altruistic work of redemption, this is purely religion that mostly practice by Pharisees.

If you framed an innocent man and he was Jailed for Life

are you just going to forget about him and leave him in Jail after you become Born Again simply

because you did it before you were a born again?

Or will you make sure he is released from Jail and beg him for Forgiveness?

Remember that the Book of James says Faith Without Works is as dead as a body with no breath

Mr shut up, you missquote our faith and scare people off, how dare tell people path to christaindom? What verses are your backup to this certain sin must be restituted? Thats how you scare people away with your holier than thou atitude, how many people did the harlot who they wanted stoning to death restitute to? The criminal that our lord guranteed a place in heaven at cruxification, how many did he restitute to? We all are sinners and as that no one has the right to play God, we all are struggling
