Picky1:I don't like the buying of every bank out thr in Africa by access bank .Some of this African countries economy has nothing to offer . Then I don't like anything from South Africa.,lol.I see mtn as just vehicle used in sending money to South Africa. They only listed because of pressure and government fines. They have no reason to be declaring the kind loss I see.The company is ridden in corruption 2 Likes |

Picky1: Access has also been growing on the back of additional Tier 1 capital raised in USD to fund it's aggressive African expansion. If the expansion falters shareholders will pay for it using NGN. If the expansion succeeds the USD Tier 1 capital instrument holders will get the bulk of profits through coupon payments on the USD instrument. That means NGN shareholders have a big exposure to potential FX costs and losses if the African expansion falters, while having a probable upside should the African expansion generate returns above the coupon payments for the Tier 1 Capital instrument holders. Going forward - One needs to monitor the contributions of the African expansion - if it is far above the cost of funds used to procure the expansion. If it isn't, the share price will not appreciate much. 7 Likes 1 Share |

nosa2: They issued a $500 million senior unsecured Eurobond in September 2021. Here's a breakdown of the Eurobond: * Issue size: $500 million * Maturity: September 2026 * Interest rate: 6.125% * Use of proceeds: General banking purposes. They also issued a USD50 million green bond in 2022. This bond matures in 2027 and they are both listed on the London Stock Exchange. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Streetinvestor2: In addition to the bolded me I find the idea of a shell company incorporated in a tax heven being a major shareholder rather opaque. Is that company, though owned by Nigerians, regarded as a foreign investor and allowed to expatriate it's dividends? 2 Likes 1 Share |

BabsO2: Don’t underestimate their expansion. I remember when UBA was doing its west African expansion, now they bring a chunk of the groups revenue. Also remember that access bank bought some of these outside banks at a discount I.e from atlas Mara. Don’t also forget that they now sit on arm pensions as a group. Isn’t that the second largest pension at the time? I think it’s grossly undervalued in my opinion 2 Likes |

nosa2: If they raise dollar for expansion, is it Naira they will use to buy the banks in other countries? Why do you think they said don’t pay any profit from dollar revaluation gains? A lot of these banks are still sitting on usd. And the revenue they make in other countries is repatriated in usd 2 Likes |

yMcy56: Been quiet about Oando, but I don’t think people really looked into their books. But I’ll leave that conversation for another day |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by nosa2(m): 11:21am On Jun 25 |
bovali: Fair points. |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by yMcy56: 11:27am On Jun 25 |
bovali:In recent developments, truth is: OANDO is ridiculously cheap! The Commas tying it down is still this court case and the previous delisting plan, which is most unlikely now........this has been discussed extensively here by me and those wey sabi pass me. No need to open further discussions on it. Make we just dey follow the whole drama as e dey go......and be doing intermittent trades in-between... *No OANDO discussion till further updates* 😊 1 Like |

PETERiCHY: It will go lower than that price because, Inflation and forex shortage worries MPC members( punch newspaper). I am sure they might increase rate by next MPC meeting coming up by July and investor will dive high interest rate then stock price will drop. |
