President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reiterated the
commitment of his administration to sustain ongoing
economic reforms and measures to stabilize the country’s
economy.
He also said Nigeria remains committed to a balanced
approach to energy transition as the country still requires
substantial investments in the oil and gas sector to meet
the energy demands and economic needs of its people.
Speaking at a meeting with the Group Chief Executive of
Standard Chartered Bank, Mr. Bill Winters, in Abuja on
Monday, the president called for a just energy transition
that supports vulnerable communities across the nation.
The president said Nigeria has oil and gas as its primary
source of revenue, adding “As friends, we do not expect
you to run away from investments in this sector. We face
the future while prudently maximizing the present. “Green industry and energy, yes. We will surely catch up with that. To run a marathon, you need energy today. Nigeria holds the largest reserves of gas in Africa. We know we can make the best use of the great opportunities that exist in the sector. We do not want you to back away from fossil fuels. Under Tinubu’s administration, Nigeria’s economy and security have plummeted into unprecedented chaos. The actions or deliberate inactions are steering Nigeria towards an inevitable disaster. His administration’s reckless borrowing, coupled with a blatant disregard for the nation’s security challenges, highlights a perilous path that threatens the very foundation of the country. This economic strangulation is compounded by his relentless borrowing, which burdens future generations with insurmountable debt. The president’s actions or rather, his deliberate inactions demonstrate a chilling complicity in Nigeria’s collapse. Poverty enhancement programmes. All shops are companies are closing down no tax breaks for them you are not serious Mr President. You can't tax companies that have closed down and got rid of staffs, you need to help businesses help you. No reasonable businesses will invest in a country that don't have a stable business policy and senseless judiciary. If I can't take someone to court and receive a fair judgement we are fooling ourselves business men look at that before investing. The only people investing in Nigeria right now are people who have short term goals and no infrastructure tied down i.e Private jet people. |
