This is a government or Church owned building remember?

There are brown roof buildings in the Southeast but not many because its like a culture in Igbo land for every male child or even female child to go back to his or her hometown to rennovate his or her father's building once he/she starts succeeding financially.
N

Also during burial ceremonies, Igbos have indirectly made it to become a culture to rennovate their father's house before the burial.

All these practices are what made it difficult to see brown roof buildings in the Southeast compared to Southwest where people easily forget and abandon their ancestral home once they become successful in the city.

Most Yorubas don't visit their father's hometown or what Igbos call village as soon as they become successful. Only very few Yorubas go back to their hometown when they become successful.

most will claim Lagos, Ibadan, etc as their hometown.

I stand to be corrected
Ojude oba is Lagos to u Mr Man or you guys just love to attach Yoruba to every topic that comes up on Nairaland due to low esteem. Yoruba don't forget their source o. They even build house in their home town before thinking of Lagos or Ibadan.

I want to correct you now. What you said about Yorubas not going home is not true. I was raised with my siblings in Lagos. There's nothing about my town in Kogi State that I don't know, even the language. I never lived there, yet I know. That's because it's a tradition every Christmas, you must return. Come and see my choir in the church during the festive period, very scanty. That's because almost everyone has gone back home. We do renovations as often as we can once there's a need for it.
These things you claim you do are not extraordinary achievements. There's nothing spectacular about them believe me. It's only normal for you to keep your ancestral home in good shape if not for anybody, for you.

Those complaining of brown roof. The brown roof is that of the school.

Odekpe is a village in Anambra. One of the very few remaining in Anambra

Soon, the wave of development will sweep away the remaining brown roof in thay place

Odiekpe is not a village in the sense that you put it. Traversing a vast stretch of road and bordering the River Niger, it is quite a large community, with respected citizens home and abroad.

The school is actually a privately owned one, but long due for rehabilitation by the family of the former owner Chief Ede. Itโ€™s quite a spacious compound, directly facing the river at Okoti, Odiekpe.

Thatโ€™s a good gesture by Ezeobi. I hope more citizens of Odiekpe can copy this and do something great for their citizens. Most importantly is the issue of the road. I hope the federal government can come to the aid of the people, just as we have been asking the FG or Delta state government to do something about tge Oko community by the head bridge, Asaba.

Thank you very much to a Zobis.

So Yorubas in Kogi state are Yorubas. Ok. Igbo speaking people of Rivers State and Delta are not Igbos unless when they commit crimes. Yoruba people, una dey try divide Igbo people because of political reasons. I no blame you guys, na the Igbo people I dey blame.

You don't understand. I don't want to mention my name here. My name and surname is pure, undiluted Yoruba. The thing is some parts of Kogi State, especially the Yoruba speaking part, otherwise known as the Okun people are indigenous Yorubas, we shouldn't have been part of Kogi State in the first place.

Thank you for saying that. A lot of Igbo speaking people where carved into Rivers State. People of same culture and ancestry divided along state lines. The funny thing here is; when they are seen in positive vibes, they will be called Niger Deltans. But when they commit crimes, they will be reminded that they are Igbos. The thing tire me
