That's why Lagos state population went from 6m in 2005 to over 15m in 2015 within just 9yrs.

When you are done deceiving yourself, you will wake up.
As at 2006 Census, Lagos' population was over 9m, it's just over 20m today...Nigeria's population between that period grew by over 50%...there's nothing exactly special in Lagos' population growth trend vis a vis the rest of the country. I'm sure you'd find a lot of states in the country that have grown their population from 2006 by 110% like Lagos did.

How far

Was it worth it?

Kudos to Ruto for doing the honorable thing- FOLDING by Listening to the voice of the people.

I think one thing that worked to the advantage of the people in Kenya is that the country is one with no single dominant tribe like we have in Nigeria. The country is one with several minority tribes unlike where have like 3 dominant tribes which makes it easy for politicians and people in government to always use tribalism divide the people.

El-Rufai that implemented the IGR model of Lagos was the same person that compared Lagos to hell.

There's a reason you hardly hear these governors make mention of implementing Lagos' policy on education, public health care, waste management, urban planning, housing, or pollution control. Tinubu is a good tax collector, but he's poor at creating livable cities.

El Rufai can compare Lagos to hell yet thousands of Kaduna indigenes are leaving his paradise to live in Lagos that is hell

Lagos is not a livable city yet every bus park in every capital city in Nigeria has dozens of buses daily heading to this hell Lagos

The law is a right move in the right direction .

Why will u be living in a civilized world and enjoying the privileges of living in a civilized world only for u to be promoting terrorism ?

If u want to promote terrorism maybe u should go and live with the terrorists themselves and enjoy the ideals of terrorism . Put mouth where ur money is ; don’t support them from afar when u can do it right at home with them.

But the US government is also promoting terrorism by
supporting and backing Ukraine's neo nazi group. They should pick a side and stand by
their words. You cannot promote and support terrorist groups thousands of metres and kilometers away from your national boundaries to destabilize sovereign states and be complaining when the citizens of these countries flood your country.

You destroy Libya, destroy Iraq, destroy Syria, Palestine yet you don't want their citizens in your country. Na ment dey worry you.

Of course there's nothing special about 20m people squeezing themselves into a tiny landmass. You are right.

I'm sure if you checked a lot of these cities in Africa I compared to Lagos, they have a significant part of the country's population in those cities compared to those living in the rest of the country, for example Namibia has about 25% of the country's population living in Windhoek, while Lagos houses just about 10% of Nigeria's population.

Lagos is populated not necessarily because of the failings of the governors from other 35 states nor because Tinubu and his cronies are performing some special magic, it's populated because of its geographical advantages, it's historical advantages as capital of Nigeria for the longest, and the advantages it enjoys as the defacto economic capital of the country.

Can you get the size of these capital cities and the population so we can check the population density of these cities compared to Lagos?

Lagos state government didn't build the Apapa port. The Federal government should help others get their first working port too and decongest the lagos port.

Who built the port in Lagos? Did FG help build the port in Lagos?

The Lagos Port Complex also referred to as Premiere Port (Apapa Quays) is the earliest and largest Port in Nigeria. It is situated in Apapa, Lagos State, the commercial center of Nigeria. The Port was established in 1913 and construction of the first four deep water berths commenced in 1921. The Apapa Port is well equipped with modern cargo handling equipment and personnel support facilities making her cost effective and customer friendly. It enjoys intermodal connection – Rail, Water and Road. It boasts of four wheel gate of about 8 meters for oversize cargoes and this has given the Port an edge over others in the handling of oversized cargoes.

How does US providing military aid funding to Ukraine(an ally defending itself against an aggressor) the same as supporting terrorism?

Which kind mumbo jumbo false equivalence be this ?

Is there more to their protests? I though the reason behind the protests is to force the government's hand to repeal the finance bill. What other thing are they protesting for ?

Pre Tinubu Lagos was probably 6m now 20M. Population of this unlivable place has grown almost 3.5times since Tinubu took over the reigns of Lagos

Maybe that is why Asue wants to follow the Lagos model

Just answer this question honestly as a Nigerian.

Is Lagos the worst city to live in Nigeria?

Aside insecurity, I believe Lagos is the worst. Overpopulation in Lagos has ripple effect which include but not limited to traffic congestion, noise, expensive rent for slum like houses, expensive transportation.

A peek into the life of an average blue collar employee will reveal this. From waking up abnormally early to beat the traffic, to spending hours on traffic only to return home very late and expected to wake up very early again. There salary is meager and they can't afford to live close to their offices. They resort to staying in rickety apartments in Igando, Idimu, Ayobo.

Their contemporaries earning the same salary and living in other cities live twice better than them. With the same salary, they can live in good apartment relatively closer to their place of work and spend significantly lesser time on the road. As cherry on the top, they have better savings too.

Most employees prefer taking 10% to 20 % pay cut to be transferred to another city. This goes a long way to buttress my point.

This is strictly comparing Lagos to other cities, not villages.

Seems like you're blind. The azov brigade is a neo nazi group in Ukraine. These guys worship and adore Hitler. They're against jews. They're against American values. Yet the same America is backing them.

While another neo nazi group in Sweden is being classified as a terrorist group by the same US. Their leaders are on wanted list.

I'm sure if you go to Nigeria of 1960, you'd still find that Lagos had the highest population density, that it's becoming more dense and increasing in population doesn't mean other states in the country aren't growing in population and becoming more dense.

In 20 years Lagos' population grew by 110%
In 20 years Edo State's population grew by 60%

I'm sure you'd have other states that their population grew by about same percentage if not more than Lagos in the past 20 years.

My point is simple, the Tinubu model isn't helping Lagos become a more livable city, so while there are positives to pick from the model, generally, it's been a failure if you're judging by the quality of living the people are getting there.

Tinubu can't be bandying a model that has failed and encouraging other states to adopt or look up to the model...we can see how that model has crumbled Nigeria. States are better served looking to other West African or world cities to model themselves after than they are looking to a model that makes cities rank low in quality of living.

What will help Lagos is to reduce the inflow of people from every other state. A state cannot be growing 100% every 20yrs and you expect it to be thriving

Give an example of a city with small land mass like 500 sqmiles , growing at 100% every 20yrs and wont be a slum
