From waking up abnormally early to beat the traffic, to spending hours on traffic only to return home very late and expected to wake up very early again. There salary is meager and they can't afford to live close to their offices. They resort to staying in rickety apartments in Igando, Idimu, Ayobo.

Their contemporaries earning the same salary and living in other cities live twice better than them. With the same salary, they can live in good apartment relatively closer to their place of work and spend significantly lesser time on the road. As cherry on the top, they have better savings too.

Most employees prefer taking 10% to 20 % pay cut to be transferred to another city. This goes a long way to buttress my point.

This is strictly comparing Lagos to other cities, not villages.

.....Theflint1, pls watch Dangote's recent interview on his Refinery. He wanted to build it in Rivers State but Ọmọ Onilẹ and State Government wahala made him to lose interest n the State.

He thought of Ondo and Ogun, their Governors' greediness push him to Lagos. Opportunities do come to other States too, but because none of their ex-governors is Tinubu, hence are failing to maximizing the opportunities, rather losing it.

Calabar and Port Harcourt was helped to secure a standard port by the same British who helped Lagos. Why have population not headed there like they did to Lagos in the past 100yrs

If this can happen to Dangote, who then can it not happen to.

Most of these Governors dont know they are using their own short sightedness to rob the State of investment opportunities, future potential jobs and revenue by the actions they take.

They will then be wondering why all the investment is going to Lagos.

You cant compare rent in London to rent in Nottingham, they are both in the UK but the rent differs greatly.

Same way you cant compare rent in New York or San Francisco to rent in New Jersey.

It's a simple economics principle, if demand is higher than supply, price will increase.

In 18, 19, houses were cheaper in Ikorodu but the moment people started moving to Ikorodu in large numbers mostly due to the low house rent, the house rent is now increasing at an alarming rate.

As long as Lagos continue to have high influx of people into the state with its tiny land mass, no infrastructure will keep up with it.
