BlueRayDick: You dey whine? The same US who seize the passport of their citizens because they don't want another US journalist like Tucker Carlson giving publicity to Moscow? Abi the same US who threatened Niger Republic on which country they will conduct business with? Democracy is very far from them. Lol the electorate doesn't even directly elect the president of that country.

Kudos to the Kenyan🇰🇪 people. If it were to be in Nigeria...they will say omo Igbo want to destroy Lagos, they want to destroy the government because their candidate lost the election. The dumb and stupid people will turn around and tell you to hold your leaders accountable. Stupid people everywhere. Big congratulations🎉🥳👏 to the Kenyan🇰🇪 people 2 Likes

User09: Its.rm made a factual statement. The Reserves of the People's Republic of China can be surging while the PBOC is actively intervening. A reserve balance increase does not in itself preclude ongoing debit activity. The "evidence all along" were very visible. First, the rate of decline was unprecedented and nothing could account for the bulk of it besides intervention. Secondly, there was actual data showing the CBN intervened while publicly disavowing such action. You were nowhere to be found when data finally emerged and we learned about the actual debt service payments made in March 2024. We spent $276m on debt servicing. Meanwhile, the reserves declined by $1B in only two weeks in March. https://nairametrics.com/2024/05/09/nigeria-spends-1-12-billion-on-servicing-foreign-debts-in-q1-2024/ You claimed that the reserves declined because of debt service payments. No one called you out to explain the discrepancy or make a show of being right. What you're making a fuss about has been hatched out already on the thread. Last month I shared this snippet: We're reverting back to the mean. The familiar Don Meffy seesaw. By sticking to this script, the rate has stayed stable over the past month, the spread between the official and parallel rates is miniscule, and the CBN has avoided expending billions per month trying to force through a bonkers sub-1000 rate. The CBN has also been able to increase the reserves like it did at the start of the year before the Apex Bank engaged in its ill-advised adventure. On a related not, they do need to stack up the reserves because of the impending pressures I've mentioned in earlier comments. Over the last few days, rates have resumed their ascent. It just crossed 1500 yesterday on the official market after staying below the mark for about a month. Summer just arrived. The expected minimum wage increase is almost here as well. 1400-1500 has been the fair rate for months. Myself, Itsrm, and many economists have said as much. It took a while, but it appears Cardi B finally got the memo. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-06-25/-ngn-usd-nigeria-central-bank-head-says-worst-of-naira-volatility-is-over He could have not wasted billions to find out, but that's past tense now. When the rate rises too quickly, there will be an intervention. When it stabilizes, the CBN will ease off. The reserve uptick and projected inflows (https://money.usnews.com/investing/news/articles/2024-06-13/world-bank-approves-nigerias-2-25-billion-loan-request as well as the proposed bond later in the year) are arrows in the CBN's quiver. If that'll be enough is a question that'll be answered in the coming months. -Lord 5 Likes |

BlueRayDick: I can't wait for all these people swallowing Govt propaganda how Russia loves them to move to Russia. I've been in Turkey for the last week. I mistakenly booked a hotel where 90% of the clientele are Russian. It's one thing to swallow propaganda, it's another to live with these people. People wey no dey even smile, when black man walk past, they will move away, you ask them questions, they will just stare at you and start nudging each other. One guy from Kazan came to take picture with us, and couldn't wait to tell us how he is one of the good guys and there is no difference between us (black) and them, that we are all human. I come dey reason why he feels the need to tell us that that unless their society is completely unused to black people. One German-Turkish guy dey commiserate with us and wish us good luck tell us say we make mistake to book this hotel. Nothing concern me sha, I dey do my thing dey go and spend most of my time in the gym. To be fair, one or two friendly ones dey but few and far between. One of them I met in the gym does sets with me and spot for each other etc 9 Likes 2 Shares |
