Suicide is definitely not an option.
He should have hang in there a little while.
Depression is real, let's reach out to our loved ones and always check up on them. People are going through a lot.
My sympathy goes to the people he left behind

It's so sad how Nigeria filled with happy people turned to a sorrow filled nation. No thanks to the current political class that messed up with the brains of Nigerians...

Damn. Nigerians don’t take mental health serious. That why therapy is not a selling service here

Open a church or mosque and do the therapy 'through the corner'.

When Nigerians battle with stuffs like this, they prefer to run to their Imams, priests or pastors instead of a Pschycologist or therapist.

They believe that only raving mad people with torn cloths should go to mental clinics. The stigma is something else.

Perhaps, huge debt that he didn't even know how and when to repay it.

Several people that we do look up to as rich men, ......if they open their debt profile for you. One would shake down to spine.

I doubt that it was debt,
He could be depressed,
It's a common thing with rich people.
When your rich unprepared it comes with its own baggage.

Invest heavily in your spirituality, I did not mention religiousity here. What we all must know, that this physical world has a script writer that runs the show. The question is, why will someone living better than 96.8% of Nigerians Cut short his life? Money has been the order of the day, the act of worshipping the creation more than the creator. You can ponder on this as your morning meditations if you care. RIP to the dead.

It takes a lot to commit suicide.. that is why having some failure's trains the mind ... always talk to someone and if your debt is high and you can't resolve leave the country pending when you can resolve.... Not worth the suicide man but continue to rest in the Lord .

I am not leaving anywhere, when I have the money then I will pay back. Although being in debt is very terrible

No . matter what, suicide is a cowardly way out of any problem. Yesterday I read about a man sentenced to death for a crime nothing about. He was waiting for death for 24 years. Eventually his day of deliverance came.

Things are tough now. Yes it is.

I remember that book: Tough Times Never Last Tough People Do.

It has been my anchor ⚓

People killing themselves over whatever is a mystery to us who love life and live to the fullest. I mean, what on earth would make me kill myself? Nothing! No matter the depression, people should look at the bigger picture. Anyways, life goes on! No RIP to waste.

A lot of things could lead to sweetcide thoughts. That's why it's very important to talk to people and be good to them, give them words of assurance and show them love. Anybody can take to that thought depending on each individual circumstances and conditions. It primed in individuals differently. Nobody is immuned.

What would cause depression for rich man, if not debt or business failure.

I doubt if you know how businesses are fearing under the economy policy of Tinubu.

Hardly would rich man depresse on account of MARRIAGE's failure, because, so many teens/girls/ladies/women are out there to make him happy.

It is not easy to commit suicide. Nobody wants to die but some people are emotionally weak.
People should think about their loved ones before committing suicide
Some people don't even have loved ones. This life ehn

Now, it will be remembered all that he was about that could have hinted at his demise. Even in the basic, the loved ones will now see signs hinting at his struggles and it will hurt them.

Is it not some form of punishment for the loved ones, who must now contend their failures in not taking any effective drastic actions such as committing him to some mental health institutions?? They might have made efforts, but it’s a public that don’t care about such efforts in our contention that suicide is a failure of one’s loved ones positioned to have done more to prevent the outcome.

Yet, we are a public, focused only on ourselves. In church, sometimes back, we were even taught in our Sunday school that mental health issues were evidences that we are disconnected from God. How do we build a solidarity premised in such shortsightedness and stigma? Yet, we are a public, that should say his loved ones failed him.

Would likely mess up the daughter’s mental health and I hope his loved ones get all the support they can get for the emotional distress that will also be exacerbated by our public proficiency in compassion and understanding.

That said, I hope our police force also consider the likelihood of his case being a homicide.

Nasty as it may sound, I believe in a person's right to end his life. It's not the prerogative of anyone else to commit them to a mental hospital when that could simply represent the worst that that person could wish for, and simply be the same as a jail sentence just for being sad.
