As part of its campaign strategy in 2015, APC asked Nigerians a simple question.

Is N216 To $1 Okay?

APC was outraged that Naira had fallen to N216 to a Dollar. Many APC supporters said this alone was enough to kick out Jonathan since Naira had never been this low

Today, after almost 10 years of APC, a Dollar is now N1,500

How do you feel about the question APC asked in 2015?

That Godforsaken hellanus should answer

I feel that a particular region have not stopped making reference to Jonathan's government because it favoured them.

Since afterwards, they have been crying of hunger because their sustainance was tied around the man who left power around 2015.

2015 election: the election that taught me Nigerians are easy to deceive, not that smart, and they don't take political history seriously and properly analyse it.

If you ever bought into the promises of change put forward by APC, you were either naive or just plain stupid.

Easier to fault others than oneself. You that didn't buy APC promises, the one you bought, did they equally leave economy better than what they met? Mumu is your name.
The funniest thing was that those who supported Jonathan's move to end petrol subsidy removal are now against subsidy removal under Tinubu. Is that not hypocrisy?

APC promised Nigerians that they'll walk on water. They simply took us to the ocean and abandoned us there.

What was the price of laptop in 2015 and what is the price today?

Has the price of laptop decreased since 2015?
How do you make this kind of comparison?

Except from Zinox laptops (which are not that popular), 99.99% of laptops (new and used) used in Nigeria are imported. So as the exchange rate increases, the price of laptops also increases.

So I don't know how you're able to make this comparison.

In the early 80s $1 was exchanging for about 4 Naira, the rot has been progressing since then due to mismanagement by politicians angry
Ask your papa, did he buy car or build house that time despite the fact that the naira was more than dollar?

Was he able to feed his family three square meal?

His answer will let you know that you don't just look at the nominal rate alone.

When dollar was 216 during Jonathan's era, many of you no fit eat.

Two events pain Ndigbo so much. Jonathan removal and Peter obi's defeat. Na just politics. Go and re strategise and stop all these tantrums over spiled milk

There is nothing tricky in wat u said. They don't produce laptop in Nigeria... If a laptop was 1k usd last year, another version of that same laptop will still be 1k usd or higher (due to upgrade), ur naira does not come into consideration wen dollar is involved.

That what politicians do. Stare up sentiments, most times by playing on ignorance of the gullible.

They knew dollar was being subsidized but still asked such a deceptive question, so I dont blame Obidients and PDP when they cry about higher prices.

If dollar is no longer being subsidised, then what is the meaning of our Afreximbank loan

nlfpmod:
OPEOLUWA also explains:

This is great news. This is a form of Volumetric Production Payment (VPP). It is a structured investment that involves the owner of an oil or gas interest ( Nigeria/ NNPC) borrowing money( $3 billion) against a specific volume of production of crude oil. The investor or lender (Afrexim bank) receives a stated monthly quota of crude oil often in raw output, which is then marketed by the VPP buyer( Afrexim ). Buyers could include investment banks, hedge funds, energy companies, and insurance companies.

Simply put, Afrexim is borrowing us $3 billion which will be used to help stabilize the naira in exchange for a daily quota of our crude oil production.

This is part of PBAT’s fiscal ideology he talked about in his article in 2015: “Oil is a passive asset in the ground. When cash-strapped yet in need of more revenue presently, a nation should also consider issuing guarantees on the future oil shipments on a price certain paid now; or selling a portion of its equity in the joint ventures.

Some may call this a variant of an oil futures. Whatever it is called, it should be considered particularly as a measure to improve our foreign currency position.”
