Some peoples logic.

When it comes to the the 1966 Nigerian coup d'état and anything negative... He's and IgboMan from Anioma Delta state.

When it comes to making Anioma a state in South East or saying Anioma people are Igbo people... Then Igbo people are unity beggars forcing Anioma to be Igbo 🤣🤣

In summary anything negative = Igbo
Anything positive = Not Igbo.

I hearby declare the the 1966 Nigerian coup d'état as an Anioma mastermined coup, henceforth leave Igbo people out of it!

No, Chukwuma Nzeogwu is an Oyo man with Ibadan tribal marks. If you don't go and concentrate on your life, you will beg for food like those before you

Both the soldiers that were involved in the January 1966 coup and the soldiers that put down the coup said that Emmanuel Ifeajuna was the leader of the coup, yet someone is posting screenshots of Wikipedia and another is asking me useless and senseless questions.

If it's not too much, can you kindly point me to your write up about the coup and the happenings around it. 🙏

You have to remember that back in the days of Chukwuma Nzeogwu, there was nothing called South South, Delta State, Anioma or Delta Igbo. It was later that these divisions came.

Nzeogwu is from Okpanam, and Okpaam people don't have any identity crises, they are as Igbo as anyone from Anambra or Enugu

It's like going to Asaba to ask Asaba people if they are Igbo, they will chase you away with cutlass, they are as Igbo as anything

When you look at the 4 sections of Anioma, Ika, Ndokwa, Oshimili and Aniocha, two sections, Oshimili and Aniocha, never deny being Igbo.

The denial comes more from the Western sections of Ndokwa and Ika, mainly because they once fell under Bini influence, and they have a small percentage Bini settlers

But there is no difference between me from Anambra and an Ndokwa man, or an Ika man
Nwannem God bless you.

I don’t get why our Igbo brothers just can’t accept this simple fact. Ojukwu himself made it very clear in an interview he granted to Tell Magazine some years back that Ifeajuna was the leader of the coup plotters and not Nzeogwu. But no, they will keep spreading the misinformation just for propaganda purposes.

Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu was not the mastermind of the 1966 coup. The mastermind was Emmanuel Ifeajuna.

Nzeogwu only made his broadcast from Kaduna because Ifeajuna failed to make his broadcast from Lagos.

Nzeogwu was waiting for word from Lagos, but when there was no word he guessed that the coup had failed in Lagos, so he made his broadcast.
my dear you know nothing about the war. Kaduna Nzeogwu was not only the mastermind he planned every stages of the coup and gave everyone the roles they played.

I have been busy and have no time to go through the thread, but let me help you guys.

1) Search for this book and read what Ojukwu wrote about the coup. I had the book in the 1990s and early 2000s, but someone misplaced it.

Because I Am Involved by Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu (1989), published by Spectrum Books.

Ojukwu explained it very well that Ifeajuna was the leader of the coup.

2) Also search for this book.

Why We Struck by Adewale Ademoyega (1981), published by Evans Brothers.

Major Adewale Ademoyega was one of the coup plotters (he was the person that took over P&T and the NBC on the night of the coup. He fled to Kaduna when the coup failed and Nzeogwu told him why he made that broadcast.

(The only reason that people think that Nzeogwu was the mastermind of the coup was because it was his broadcast that they heard.

Adewale Ademoyega took over the radio station in Lagos and posted soldiers there. They were to wait for Ifeajuna to come and make his broadcast. Unfortunately for them, Ironsi recovered and began countering their orders. Troops refused to let Ademoyega into the radio station when he eventually returned there.

Nzeogwu waited for Ifeajuna's broadcast from Lagos, but when there was none, he guessed that the coup had failed in Lagos and therefore he made his own broadcast from Kaduna.

Nzeogwu was brought into the coup because of his ability to turn out troops in Kaduna. It was Nzeogwu that brought Ademoyega into the coup).

I have this book right here, but I am too busy to quote it for you. Go and buy it.

3) Read the Police Special Branch report about the coup (it is very detailed).

Don't rely on Wikipedia (anybody can write anything there.

If you studied History well you will know that Nzeogwu is often described as being from Igbo Speaking tribe

Igbo Speaking tribe doesn’t mean they necessarily describe themselves as Igbo
For example Jamaicans can be considered English Speaking but not English people

It is up to them how they describe themselves

Nigeria’s first Prime Minister Balewa was from a Hausa Speaking tribe but he
was not Hausa neither was he Fulani
Balewa was Sayawa

Moronic reasoning.
Often described by who?

That's true! I forgot Peter Enahoro!

The famous journalist Peter Enahoro (aka Peter Pan) was the editor of Daily Times (Nigeria's biggest newspaper at the time). He said that he was given a written account of the coup by Emmanuel Ifeajuna and that the coup was the brainchild of Ifeajuna. He said this on an NTA documentary about the Civil War and he also published it in his book.
