Nnamdi Azikwe is an igbo man and he was the one who wrote the evidence i just posted.

Do you know what that makes you? An irredeemable clown!

no one in your miserable lineage can ever be like Nnamdi Azikwe, so your opposing opinion doesn't count.

Cross bridge ?

I have been to South east Nigeria several times and used the River Niger bridge.

I wasn't hurt by a fly.

Obviously because not every igbo has a very low IQ like you.

Lol.....well people can say whatever they like but it doesn't change the fact that after the Igbos left the benin kingdom became to decline or will history deny that igbos played a cruise role in the ile ife and benin Kingdom just like we continue to play till date.

Benin declined after igbos left or were driven away is debatable
The British expedition that destroyed Benin met a civilized society thats advanced in bronze works and carvings which they looted and some are just being returned after 200 years abroad ............maybe this will be the beginning of Benin renaissance.

The Ooni palace in Ife holds remains of past Oba of Benin.......... No single Ooni grave can be found in Benin. So the revisionists can go and rest, Benin (not igodomigodo) originated from Ife

Pls,use your intellect.
How do you know that Eze is an Igbo name when there was nobody bearing such before him.

Yes,II have seen a midwest girl called Nze.
I jokingly asked her if her name is Eze but she said it is Nze.

Nzi,Nze,Izi or close to these could be corrupted to Eze.
It might even be Eze.
It could be his clan or family name.

Moreover, there was no controversy like this when Zik wrote Odyssey where he explained that his granny told him that they originated from Benin and nobody contradicted his assertions.

Ooni of Ife too has this history in his possession and hinted at it but didnt go further because of controversy.

This Obi too is saying the same thing but making it a little milder because he knows how volatile you people are.

Have read a couple of your historians saying almost the same thing.

You are an empty head.
Nze is also an Igbo name and title.
Go to Facebook and type Nze and see thousands of Igbos all over SE and SS bearing the name.

Just mention one example of a past oba of Benin whose remains is in Ife.

This is not news. My late grandfather iswho was a prominent member of NCNC told us that Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe always reiterated that Onitsha people are from IFE, settling at Benin. When their progenitor died, they stayed for a very long time at Benin before migrating to several places and finally settled at Onitsha.

The Ga people of Accra Ghana are also from IFE. Ekuabo, Ekwuabo , Ekaabo means welcome in Yoruba in various Yoruba pronunciations.

When the late Oba of Benin wrote a book and gave a new history about Benin and IFE relationship and said Oodua is Ekalalederhan a Benin Prince. He said Oodua is not the first person to settle at IFE. He said Oodua met some people who were already living at IFE . The puzzle he left was for historians to find out those early settlers at IFE before Oodua arrived.

His Highness, Oba Akinrutan ( OBAT), the Olugbo of UGBO land in Ondo State claimed those early settlers are UGBO people referring to his people.

My question to His Highness, Oba Akinrutan is to find out if there is any relationship between UGBO people and the present Onitsha people.
Ugbo isn't the same as the Ibo people. Ugbo simply refers to the Ilaje folks of Ugbo kingdom now in Ondo State... A part of the original Ife (Ufe) aborigenes when Oduduwa arrived from Oke Oranfe, just 8 miles away from the present Ife. The Olugbo of Ugbo's royal palace had already issued a public clarification and warning to the irresponsible group of people among the Ibos who were spreading falsehoods that Ibos are the same as Ugbos to STOP IT. The quarters of the Olugbo of Ugbo's lineage still exists in Ife as of today and it's an open secret.

The Ooni of Ife also NEVER at anytime said Ibos are the same as Ugbos. It's the senseless and highly dishonest fake news spreaders among the Ibos who are responsible for that fake news online and offline... even on this same NL thread, a few of these creeps are still spreading that insidious falsehood.

No doubt, Usen town which is now in Ovia South West LGA of Edo State (which was founded by Oranmiyan's older brother) was the final destination point for Yorubas coming from Ife before getting to Benin many centuries back.

It was from Usen that Oranmiyan went to Benin to become the first Oba after the Ogiso rulership ended. It is very possible that the Yoruba paternal lineages that had become a part of Igodomigo (which became Benin), then migrated out from Benin to different parts of Anioma and then the Igalas who are the boat people then took the migrants across the River Niger in boats according to the current Obi of Onitsha Ado N'Idu to the present Onitsha 500 years ago, which as we know was first settled by the Igalas. Hence Onitsha has Igala and Bini bloodlines or quarters out of the 8 quarters in Onitsha. The Igalas are the custodians of the Egungun masquerade (spelled as Egwugwu in Igala). As you might have known already, Igala is a Yoruboid language with Igalas having many Yoruba words like Ogede, Omi, Egwugwu, Ogun (Ogwu), and more, due to the FACT that Yoruba bloodlines are mixed with the migrant population that came from Wukari in modern Taraba State via the River Benue and converged at the River Niger confluence according to the interview granted to the Sunday Punch by the last Attah of Igala Michael Ameh Oboni in 2018. Igalas also had significant Edo mix in them and the Igalas also had influences on the Idoma and Norther parts of Anambra and Enugu (such as in Nsukka) where they first introduced the red chieftaincy cap from Igalaland.

Rounding off... All the traditional titles and Yoruba deities you find in Ife are also domiciled in Usen and Benin. If a new Oba of Benin is to be crowned, Usen plays a strong role in the coronation ceremonies of that Oba of Benin. That's how close Ile Ife is to Usen and Benin's Royal Palace.

You will need to visit the palace to get a proof since I can't bring a grave on nairaland, but they are there in Ife palace .

The first One of Benin and few others after him were buried in Ife. If you want proof , visit Ooni palace In Ife

You kept asking for proofs without providing any. Okay I haven't asked ?
So where is the proof that the site was excavated and nothing was found.

he said; dika ndi Igbo kwusiri na ALA YORUBA, enwere ijebu Igbo. IT MEANS THAT THE IGBOS STOPPED OVER IN YORUBA LAND, A PLACE NOW CALLED IJEBU IGBO
The Obi of Onitsha was unfortunately spitting out FALSE information in that video. Ijebu Igbo is a town that was founded originally by direct migrants from Ijebu Ode who are of pure Yoruba descent. Ijebu Ode represents the inner settlement of the Ijebu people and Ijebu Igbo represents the outer settlement of Ijebu people. Ijebu Igbo had NOTHING to do with Ibo tribess from the East of River Niger. Period.

It's annoying how anyone including a king would blatantly spew out such falsehoods on an Ibo language program and twist other ethnic groups well-known history. Now that what he said has been translated, it would lower his reputation in the eyes of those who otherwise had some regard for him.

From the advanced history and archival materials I've read for decades now, as recent as the 1800s, the Onitsha and Asaba people who were interviewed by the Whites and other missionaries CLEARLY refered to their neighbors east of River as "Ibo" "Igbon" "oni Igbo" (a name given by the Igalas meaning bush people) which were derogatory because the name describes primitive "bush people" who were often captured as "slaves" to be sold. The Asaba and Onitsha NEVER used the word Ibo to describe themselves.

The Bini royal lineage has paternal roots with Ile Ife over 900 years ago through Oranmiyan who came to what is now modern Benin via Usen (a community founded by Oranmiyan's older brother who came with him from Ife [Ufe). So, it is with the Bini Royal lineage who had Ife paternal descent along the line of Oba's from Oba Eweka that had contact with other people in the present Edo and Delta States. The ruling Royal family lineage of Issele-Uku and a few other communities in Anioma areas or towns also had ruling Royal family lineage from the Bini palace which of course has Yoruba ancestry or descent through the paternal line who greet one another by saying L'mogun (which is a praise to Ogun the Yoruba deity of War and Iron). The people of Usen also greet one another with the term "Delauhe" meaning "How is Ife?"

Did he (Obi of Onitsha) think nobody would find out his "fib"s if he spoke in his language? Now he's been SUSSED out for speaking falsehoods in that video.

All the places with Igbo as prefixes and suffixes in the whole of Yoruba-speaking areas of Nigeria, Benin Republic and Togo have NOTHING to do in terms of direct ancestry with the Ibos of the areas East of Nigeria.
