Nothing honest about beating yout wife "a couple of times". That was a serious own goal. Also Nlno woman would take polygamy lying low. Except she had/has her own plans from the beginning. I have a uni mate that went into polygamy fully prepared. She sef na agaracha and she clearly said she can't be with a monogamous man.

I do hope we can all agree that men (and women) grow into their taste of partners as they have more means. As a broke student, I was sure I didn't have a spec in men.

The honesty is in typing it out, with your own hands, under no duress.

I am not defending what he did.

I respect that!

Just to comment on the beating part that people are asking if Islam allowed.

The 'beating' allowed is a very light beating that should not harm her in any way using stuff light siwak (chew stick) and it must not be in the face. Just a simple hitting. The beating is not beating in the real sense of it cos it has it own definition in Islam. You can't use koboko and term it beating , that one na you dey at fault.
So Chewstick cant hurt a woman?

And can a angry man beat a woman lightly?

na - i have not seen his wife pic , but from is days on this platform and from others accounts the woman is HOT. Jarus has always said he would likely take another wife.

My first time of hearing this oh.

Dem need suspend or delete that permission
Islam needs to be reformed to fit with the demands of modern society, all those talk of perfect religion na rubbish...if you have this many gray areas in a religion and scholars of that religion arguing for an against things that would seem obviously wrong, that religion is overdue reformation.

Christianity from the 18th/19th century is very different from the Christianity of today and that's why we're not having as many issues solely based off the religion.

Exactly, the whole Jarus thing just screams someone who's not experienced enough with women, or doesn't have the personality that makes it possible to handle the fallout of such drama expertly. You carry new wife enter house reason say buying her a few gifts was enough to put things to bed grin grin grin

I think it wasn't fair for Jarus to proceed with the divorce based off seeing his wife do juju sha, but I can understand reacting the way Jarus did if you're the very religious type.

Jarus has been very vocal against Muslim going to see alfas that see vision and all.

Imagine now finding out that your own sef dey do ham.

I think it might be beyond just physical features sha, his first wife is quite traditional and his new wife is your GenZ muslimah type.

The bold is the summary of what happened to that bros.

I perused his account of the whole event and I didn't see anywhere he mentioned she was a bad wife or that she had inadequacies that necessitated him getting a new wife. It just appears as though baba is financially capable and he decided to get a second wife.

The wife is hurt and decides to resist the move through diabolical means and baba catches her which led to the whole fight/domestic violence and he eventually sending her packing.

I remember reading one of his old interviews where he spoke about how his wife advised him to sell his range rover to complete his house that was under construction. It is only normal for such woman who believe she's part of ur success story to resist another woman coming into the picture.

I have seen the first wife. He was quite open with his life way back on NL. With all due respect, she wasn't "HOT". She looked like the average devout muslimah. Maybe the second is the HOT one.

Well. I haven't seen any of those screenshot bleed over to LinkedIn which is where I think the real damage could be done.

From a PR perspective, I'd be advising him to keep it that way and just go dark on twitter for a while till this blows over.

Jarus does not need twitter in my opinion.. he only has about 60k followers there, most of whom are unlikely to have the means to be his potential customers.

It's not like Jarus is primarikly Twitter Commentator on twiiterNG. He's a corporate brand who just happens to tweet. There'd a difference.

Personally, I think if he keeps his dead down for a little bit. He'll be fine. Gen Z pockets are not as deep as their memories are long.
Lol he needs Twitter like mad.
He did one analysis that he posted recently on his Twitter Media I think it is about 60%+ or so but huge percentage of his JarusHomes sales leads were from Twitter.

No be juju, It's just a case of a man who let himself riled up by a troll account.

He was hyping his new wife who posted some pictures and some troll account asked if that was the reason he beats his wife & sent her packing. He knew the person behind the account was his wife's relative and started spilling all the beans.

He didn't keep his emotion in check

What is "light beating" ? undecided

Any form of beating involves pain no matter how little it is . In fact, the dictionary meaning of beating is "a punishment or assault in which the victim is hit repeatedly"

Beating is simply assault no matter how "light" it is

It is why I say the word 'beating' has it's own definition in Islam not the literal definition we are all familiar with, just as you cited. In some textual translation, they use the word 'hit', hit her lightly. The 'beating/hitting' in this case is just symbolic not with the intent of harm or hurt which is also why lighter stuff like chew stick are used as example. If we are being frank, we can't consider hitting one with chew stick as beating. The hitting could even be in form of a play not as if you will say, come and kneel down let me beat you. Nope.
But if we focus on the literal definition of beating only, then there is nothing in the Quran that suggests that a husband is allowed to beat his wife irrespective of the situation. She is to be honoured and treated kindly, even when there is lost of love between them.

Alright bro.

One question please: What is the motive of using a chewing stick to "beat" a woman? What purpose is that "beating" supposed to serve? I mean if the husband is allowed to "beat" his wives "lightly", it is to what end? Is it supposed to make the women change or what?
