This is quite ridiculous.

Before he became the Head of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund and also the current Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu was a very senior banker who rose to the position of a treasurer while in the corporate banking sector. He's rich and If he can afford to get a high-end watch of that amount, that's his business. Why the focus on ONLY him when other high-profile guests were at the wedding ceremony with very expensive watches, shoes, and other accessories. He could even have got the watch as a gift from super wealthy friends.
I myself have a couple of expensive accessories that I don't wear often except for very special occasions. So, I can understand what Sanwo-Olu is doing here... Wearing a high-end watch on a special wedding occasion.

Just this week, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu celebrated his 59th birthday ceremony quietly with the underprivileged children in Lagos State. He even instructed people NOT to put expensive birthday adverts in the papers. That was VERY sensitive of him. In times of economic challenges, it's good to be modest but you don't expect folks who are rich to start wearing rags OR pour ashes on themselves just because you want them to be on the same economic level with you out of envy!

We are on the same page here. This is the reason why some wealthy folks just go under the radar because of envy from physically and mentally poor people in all societies... Including the Western countries.
