Hezzyluv: This is funny. If you knew history, you'd know China's blessing is its productive human capital. They know that the sweat of their brow puts food in their bellies, unlike Nigerians who feed on the God given manna from heaven. 12 Likes 2 Shares |

EcoNews:How many percent of the fund go to non-Northerners? Even to the Northerners, the funds are not honestly and transparently released. The herdsmen that disrupt farming in the same North get more than what is provided as funds to the farmers. There is a difference between funding and looting. There is a difference between empowerment and nepotism. 6 Likes 1 Share |

mrvitalis: Of course you would not have time for the truth, lol. Loans and other financial assistance has always been given to farmers, but farmers always find it difficult to pay it back even if they wanted to, as what they plant does not often cover the loan or leave enough for profit. 2 Likes 1 Share |

I don't think there is any country in the world where able bodied young men sit on socail media all day abusing government for not providing them with cheap education, cheap power, cheap petrol, cheap tomato, cheap garri, cheap yam, cheap pure water - basically, cheap everything. That 's despite the fact that everything I listed up there is still cheaper in Nigeria today than in any country around us. - Go and farm. No. - Ok, grow something, anything, in your backyard. They refuse. - If you can't get job with your degree, learn work. No way. - University increases school fee to less than N100,000. All hell breaks loose. But they jump at any opportunity to pay N20m school fee abroad. - Power nko? Most people don't pay. They steal it. - Government gives loans for small businesses, farming etc They chop, clean mouth and don't pay back. On and on it goes. Is there any government in the world that can develop a country with a people like Nigerians? I don't think so. 16 Likes 2 Shares |

DeLaRue: I remember while growing up in the military barracks, about 80% of us (the soldiers and their children), goes to farm and we end up having excess of food at home I.e no hunger @all. while the little salary can do other things we even sell the proceeds from farm to futbills. But today, no body goes to farm for fear of their lives. The 2rut is that, government need to play their own part per se. For instance, I know for sure, the reason why we have "more" food scacity is attributed to farmers not having access to their farmlands because of fear of bandits. U don't expect them to fight these beasts with machetes because, they use sophisticated weapons. Government have to deal with insecurity while these people go back to farming. They can still help matters investments heavily in mechanized farming and even entice private partners to join them. You hardly farm without fertilizer, insecticides and herbicides. The prices of these items no be here. A bag of fertilizer is up to two months salary of some people. 2 Likes |

mrvitalis: As in, a few of them group their capital together to work together and share the risk and the profit. While, every Nigerian wants to be their own boss working alone so all the profit and the risk is theirs. Can you see the benefits and the risks in both? Look at Nairaland if you don't. 2 Likes |

mrvitalis:Everything is not government. Before we have modern democracy, we've been existing. No one ever accuse our traditional rulers of starving them. It's understandable in time of famine when yields are bad. This is not the situation, but everyone is singing things are expensive but no one ever imagined who will do the farming if they don't. Government don't own farms or sell foodstuffs, and I'm damn sure if the government gives everyone funds to farm, majority of those shouting of hunger will divert it for something else. 8 Likes 2 Shares |

Glad our people are waking up now.. Nigerians used to be proactive those days, took agriculture seriously until churches and mosques started springing up, then people abandoned work for faith.. when even bible talk am say faith without work is dead. Y'all should continue speaking in tongues on empty stomach. Ori yin a to pe. Let apostles and likes be deceiving you that you can become wealthy overnight through prayers. 9 Likes 2 Shares |

DeLaRue: I think so. First, give us Buhari who calls us lazy fuqs. Then give us Tinubu till we cry αΊΉbi npa wa. And after those 2, and if we haven't learnt, let our laziness and ignorance get to the point where the dead are left rotting on the street. When we start walking pass our smelly dead relatives and our population halves, those who remain will learn by force. |
