President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has signed an executive order to increase local production of healthcare products.

The order introduces zero tariffs, zero excise duties, and VAT on specified machinery, equipment, and raw materials, aiming to reduce production costs and enhance our local manufacturers’ competitiveness. Specified items include active pharmaceutical ingredients (#APIs), excipients, other essential raw materials required for the manufacturing of crucial health products such as drugs, syringes and needles, long-lasting insecticidal nets (#LLINs) and rapid diagnostic kits.

The Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, will now take the next steps by codifying the new Order.

Create an environment where no one gets sick. It is better than slashing prices of drugs. When no one gets sick there will be less demand for drugs.
Reduce price of energy. This includes electrical tariffs and that of PMS, AGO and DPK.
Everything will fall in line.
The money budgeted to be shared to poor families use to import agricultural machineries and support mechanised farming. Nigerians will have food in surplus.
Thanks.

Obi, the arm - chair critic. Has he done anything for Abia the only LP state. Obidients and hypocrisy are like 5 and 6. Even minimum wage of #30000 Oti has not paid and they are preoccupied with advising the president. When will he advice Oti to pay the old #30000 minimum wage and the new #60k plus minimum wage. Charity should begin at home.
