Why not imported pharmaceutical products

Give waivers to finished pharmaceutical products.. that's the real deal.

Let patients have access to essential medicines..most are not manufactured in Nigeria...we know this!

Inasmuch as I don't support any Nigeria Politicians but I think this is a very good one from President Tinubu.

At least if they stop tax on drugs all this medicine people are relying on for their health can come in freely and the price will drop drastically.

Thank you Mr President. You do this one make we no lie.

Don't mind the President...he signed for inputs and not finished products.

What he signed is only for raw materials

This will bring some relief in the medical circle, which would make it affordable for the needy. It is empirical that some people life's depends on the intake of medication, considering the inflation that has blemished the present state of affair of the country.

The idea is to give support to indigenous manufacturers. Emzor, Neimeth, Orange drugs are beneficiaries of this policy because it stimulates local production.

These are policies that help the economy not sharing paliatives or increasing minimum wage for a small group of workers. I am suspecting that Soludo is involved in the crafting of this policy as he is currently building a pharmaceutical park in Anambra state.
Would it equally be zero VAT on locally manufactured pharmaceutical goods as well? undecided

I sometimes wonder if some of you attended primary school at all or is it so much hate that has blindfolded most of you?
If raw materials are easy to get and at good price the price of the end products will surely be low and affordable for people to buy.
Do you need a baby to tell you that? SMH!

I agree..this should be a long term thing and is a welcome development.

But, what will solve the immediate burden on patients as at today is massive reduction on the price of essential medicines. This is very key, people are dying ..they cannot afford their medication.

You're a blockhead without exposure or common sense.

They want to increase attractiveness of local drug production, you are here talking trash. Some of you type as if you lack basic commonsense.

Is this the solution
After APC has used bad policies to frustrate all the pharmaceutical companies to leave the country..

Most of those drugs should easily be manufactured in Nigeria..

Local manufacturers to the rescue. If you want to criticise, do so with sense.

Stimulate ke? These foreign companies are competitors and if the playing field is not leveled, we are likely to see local manufacturers go out of business as a result of this. lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed

The Pharmaceutical Industries should reciprocate by bringing down their prices accordingly.

A lot of phamacitical industries left Nigeria before APC and it too bad that you don't understand that the policy is to help local manufacturers.

You know nothing about this field ..stay clear!

As at today, major pharmaceutical companies in Nigeria do not have WHO pre-qualified plants...majority import their branded generics!

That said, the move by the government is laudable...but what happens to immediate relief on skyrocketing prices of essential medicines that are not manufactured in Nigeria

Why not remove import duty completely on finished pharmaceutical products and also their raw materials and APIs

If you do this...many Nigerians with terminal illness will have huge relief from prices of these medicines.

That's the argument.

Next time...don't jump into what you know nothing about.
