but nwakali has the quality nah. You shouldn't write off a player like that. Emphasis here is on longball
After long ball, what else?

Once money is at the forefront, just know that NFF are guilty before the date for court is set. No be today na. Remember the budget for WWC where they budgeted a large % of the monies for themselves over the players. E reach this one now, they want to continue as usual. Smh

Rest! I have answered you already! Do you even watch Seria A? Don't come here saying crap! Keshi came from defense to score against Senegal at 1992 AFCON. I don't have time arguing with 1990s kids!
TheGoodJoe:

My hands are clean. I only explained to him why Calafiori was in the midfield position while watching. I didn't saw we should call him midfielder. Innocent analyst like me. 😁

Maka why did you not include Akanji in your inverted CB list?

You correct me as in how? Did you watch the match I watched? No one is arguing with you that he is not a left back!

My point is simple to understand if you get down on your stubborn high horse crap!

He played in midfield in that game! Simple.
Just like Stones and Ajayi had done for their respective Clubs. Does that make them midfielders? Of course, No!
However, you watching them for the first time in that role might think they are one.
I don't need your epistle to understand what is or not in football/soccer!

Yes, Calafiori is a defender but on that day he was played in midfield by Motta and shown like a Pirlo! Period!!
TheSuperNerd:
On the pitch, he clearly executed the role of CB as if we haven't had Libero CBs before. You are being funny saying you didn't check whoscored or whatever site and trying to make it look like "ONLY" every other person does same. What's that? Your denial that you don't check Stats sites at all? Don't lie please.

Watching players on the pitch play and knowing their primary positions is one of the fine traits of a good analyst. He may show other attributes but he has a primary role. Calafiori was almost always found on the left side of his team's defensive phases and contributed also in attacking phases also from the left side predominantly. How was that hard to tell?

The fact is you were wrong about his position and I knew about Calafiori enough before your comment to know he was no midfielder. I didn't need whoscored or whatever. I know lots of players/talents and watch them without even mentioning all of them.

His assist against CROATIA (Not Czech republic) came from a midfield position because he drove forward from the back. Does that make him a midfielder now? So every defender who feeds an assist in an advanced area of the pitch becomes a midfielder or striker then??

I guess we can also call his Defensive Partner, Alessandro Bastoni a midfielder too for laying off similar assists with Inter in the past season in advanced positions on the pitch like the one for Di Marco vs Empoli.

I don't hear Midfielder shouts for Bastoni when he also has one of the best long ball techniques in Serie A and has laid off assists in "midfielder" positions too.

Get real.

Most players don't resort to long Balls as a main skill set strategy because they have other football competencies and attributes.

Just because you saw Kelechi Nwakali's name , you jumped in to argue. Meliforme's point is so simple.

Finidi used a long ball playing style of play. His game was built around the long ball. He is wondering why he did not recruit players who are the best long ball specialists in the team. Even Onyedika, who was the best among who Finidi invited when it comes to long ball was left on the bench in the start.

What you posted is totally devoid of the point he made.

Finito.

Tell him.

I don't understand the hostility. In an inverted defensive position, the defender tucks into the midfield in situations. I am actually showing that you actually saw Calafiori playing in midfield. Don't vex.

For this reason they can lock it in a safe before he confuses NFF with plagiarism of Tiki Taka and land us in Haram footie.

Utility means you are playing in a backup role. Inversion means you are playing in an horizontal line instead of vertically

When John Stones sets up with Ruben Dias, he is in a horizontal arrangement. When he inverts, he is in a vertical arrangement with Dias. With Dias on defense and Stones pushing into the midfield.

Finito.

The worst Italian team in modern history!

Players make a coach not the other way round.

National team football is where you know a good coach where you have to use what you have not what you buy to win.

Spalletti is being exposed as a mediocre coach. The Italians are fuming!

Watch out for the new Pirlo-- Riccardo Calafiori! What a player! Spalletti must take him to euros!

I remember when I said Zirkzee is a unique talent. Many here mocked his time at Bayern.

Zirkzee will be a big time player! I believe he will fit in to ManCity style perfectly!

This day, April 22. My late dad's birthday. Game vs Roma. He played as a LB/LCB.

You made the above comment and I pointed out that he is actually no midfielder and isn't even playing as one. He bagged an assist in that game from the left channel.

So yep. I always know what I am talking about.

William Troost Ekong has above average IQ
Another socially aware guy, watched a few of his interviews. Even the tiniest of details in football he breaks down for viewers
Good communicator who gives insights the average fan won’t understand
He pinpointed something wrt Stanley Nwabali getting upset in a match, if a goalie works himself up in an altercation, it leaves him susceptible to making an error in the next minute if he loses focus.
Goal keeping position is an extremely sensitive one, field the wrong one and you’d pay
Probably the most important piece of a teams spine
Going to be hard to replace that guy in the team
Professionalism πŸ’―
I believe he’d be super eagles captain till end of 2027 Afcon

I am watching the full match replay right now on paramount+!

I completely agree with you, Calafiori played as a left back in that game marauding to the midfield few times.

Like mostob said, I didn't really concentrate on the game then!

I can't even imagine how uncomfortable you feel discussing this topic right now!

Take care Doc! @TheGoodjoe no vex!

I would not be surprised if Italy pivots after this tournament and starts to look towards recruiting players of immigrant descent.

Just ask yourself, how many native Italian superstars has their system produced in the last decade?

Now you come. Coz I recall my reply to you that same day on April 22 was that he was featuring as a LB even though he is a CB.

I meant to type LB and not CB in my last comment. But glad you get the picture.
