Nigeria has institutionalized poverty that it has become difficult for anyone to have meaningful life in it. Every one want to run away.
United state and Canada on the other hand is Nigerias greatest problem. They have opened their borders to any one running away and this created unprecedented demand for dollar making it scarce for people whose business depends of the foreign exchange. These set in conjunction with politician on both medical and leisure tourism mop up any and every available dollar in the market.

Those countries you mention has strict rule on emigration. They have build their economy so well that they are very much comfortable in their country. The moment new craze for foreign trips or illusion of a better life outside their country kicks it, the fall of the currency will be imminent.

But we are talking about Nigeria. Selfish Country. Every one is afraid of poverty so the crave to covet and steal at any little window.

Those countries you mentioned are far ahead of Nigeria in everything. Even if they have 200 years old men as their president, no problem so long they're already developed.

But in Nigeria, no development, the economy is dead . nothing is working and yet we have old dead brain tumors effected men leading us. Isn't that foolishness? You see why it is stupid to always compare trump, Biden and Putin to tinubu all the time? U dey use developed countries with sane leaders that are million miles ahead of Nigeria which has a very corrupt brain dead man as president?

Next time before you compare Biden, Trump etc to tinubu, you need to use your brain and think

Nigeria is the only country where their leaders use their own hand to create artificial problems for the country immediately they are elected, then spend billions of dollars and their entire 8year tenure in office trying to solve the same problems they created in the first place. grin

You listed him as a leader of an advanced nation not a contestant. Are you just typing without thinking?
Besides, if you want to be logical, instead of rationalising based on two countries out of over 200 all over the world, what you should have done is find out the average age of world leaders and then see where your beloved leader falls. The average age of leaders around the world is 61. As a matter of fact, over 80% of leaders of countries are below 70 which means being above 70 is the anomaly and not the norm.
Secondly, you should think outside the box and ask yourself why there's a lower age limit for contesting public office but no upper age limit. Why should civil servants have to retire at 60 but a 70+ year old is allowed to rule the country with its complexities? Or do you mean it's just right cause the white man said so? There are diseases particular to old age above which will make them unsuitable for such sensitive posts ordinarily without a strong support system.

FX rates are important only to the extent upon which they impact on 1. Purchasing power and 2. Cost of living.

A country's exchange rate can be 1:1$, but the purchasing power of the masses would be so low and cost of living expensive.

Another country's rate can be 20000:1$ but the purchasing power of the masses would be reasonably average and cost of living moderate.

In summary, every action of government must be geared towards two key things first and foremost...

1. Ensure the masses have an above average purchasing power whereby spending a little of the local currency can buy a fairly large amount of BASIC NECESSITIES (food, clothing, etc)...

2. Ensure the cost of living is not beyond the reach of the common man (housing, health, transportation).

If governments can understand these two parameters, it would better allocate its scarce resources and be able to measure its level of progress...

Let me ask this curious question

For example

Some country exchange rate maybe 1 to $1

Does it means if the citizens are require to study aboard with $10,000

They can easily get it because the exchange rate is equal

What made a 65 years old man a youth? There's difference between a sanity and foolishness.

The youth doing yahoo yahoo is as a result of your failed govt. Without money you can't get actively involved in govt in Nigeria. Dude blame those old men in power who has vowed to bastardized this country.

If a youth of 35yrs runs for presidency and wins, will those old men allow him to go to aso rock, we all know they'll rig him out or better still kill him. That's the corruption we're talking about. So what nonsense are you saying again

FX rates are a function of availability. Or as some like to put it, demand & supply.

P.S.

Every country has its own peculiarities about availability of the dollar.
