larride: Murtough. Ideally, a manager indicates he needs a striker (he did) and the management aligns with the talent department to bring candidates. Hojlund fit the criteria for most requirements in a striker but Atalanta made us pay a premium for a raw talent who still needed refinement. We still need to get a reliable striker but I believe Hojlund will come good. He has all the base characteristics to succeed as a striker. 1 Like |

larride: Height. Pace. Decent level of ability with both feet. What he lacks is a great first touch, aerial presence (for 6ft 3 guy, he’s criminal in the air) and his positioning is still hit and miss. He also is not as clinical as he could be but that can be improved with time as guys like Salah have demonstrated. I think we overpaid by 20-30m but considering the striker market, I don’t think buying Hojlund was a bad decision when you look objectively at the situation 1 Like |
